CITY OF RIVERSIDE CITY COUNCIL Minutes of: Date of Meeting: Time of Meeting: Place of Meeting: Regular Meeting of the City Council September 14, 1999 9 a.m. Council Chamber, City Hall Roll Call: Mayor Loveridge called the meeting to order at 9:20 a.m. following completion of the Adjoumed Regular Meeting. The Invocation was given by Councilmember Defenbaugh. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the Flag. MINUTES The Minutes of the Meeting of September 7, 1999, were approved as presented. PRESENTATION Mayor Loveridge called upon David Eshleman, member of the League of California Cities Board of Directors, who presented their 1998 Helen Putnam Award for Excellence in the Public Works and Transportation Category to the City's Traffic Engineer, Fran Dunajski, and staff for development and implementation of the Neighborhood Traffic Management Program. This program provides for the installation of traffic calming measures in residential neighborhoods. CONSENT CALENDAR The following items, presented to the City Council on the Consent Calendar for consideration, were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to each item. CITY MANAGER BID 5665 - FISCAL YEAR 1999-2000 MINOR STREET REHABILITATION The City Council (1) awarded Bid 5665 to Laird Construction Co., Inc., in the amount of $875,231.15 (Account 9537027-440223), for Fiscal Year 1999-2000 minor street rehabilitation; and (2) authorized the preparation of appropriate contract documents for execution by the City Manager or his designee. BID 5667 - REINFORCED CONCRETE PIPE FOR RUBIDOUX STORM DRAIN PROJECT The City Council (1) awarded Bid 5667 to Rialto Concrete Products, Inc., in the amount of $62,056.45, for the purchase of 586 lineal feet of reinforced concrete pipe for the Rubidoux Avenue Storm Drain project; and (2) authorized the Purchasing Services Manager to proceed by purchase order for this requirement. LE BOEUF, LAMB, GREENE & MAC RAE - BILLING RATE INCREASE The City Council approved the increase in hourly rates from $225 to $250 per hour for the law firm of LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae for tort litigation services.
