Cultural Heritage Board Agenda - Final June 17, 2015 <br />COMMENTS FROM THE AUDIENCE: <br />1 Public Comments: This portion of the agenda will be limited to a cumulative total <br />of 15 minutes, with individual speakers limited to a maximum time limit of 3 <br />minutes. Further discussion of any matter beyond 15 minutes will be continued <br />later in the agenda. If there is no one from the audience wishing to speak, the <br />Board will move to the next order of business. <br />DISCUSSION CALENDAR <br />This portion of the Cultural Heritage Board Agenda is for all matters where staff and public <br />participation is anticipated. Individual audience participation is limited to 3 minutes. <br />2 PLANNING CASE P14 -0840: Proposal by Reach Leadership STEAM Academy to <br />consider a Certificate of Appropriateness to establish a charter school for <br />kindergarten through 6th grade students, with up to 450 students and 28 -30 staff <br />at any given time, on a 2.5 acre vacant portion of the Eligible Cultural Resource, <br />Grace Methodist Church site, located at 1085 Linden Street and situated on the <br />easterly side of Rustin Avenue and north of Linden Street in the R -1 -7000 (Single <br />Family Residential) and R -3 -1500 (Multi Family Residential) Zone, in Ward 1. It is <br />recommended that the Cultural Heritage Board determine that this proposal is <br />exempt from California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) review pursuant to <br />Section 15332, as the project constitutes an in -fill development. Contact Planner: <br />Gaby Adame, Assistant Planner, (951) 826 -5933, gadame @riversideca.gov <br />3 PLANNING CASE P14 -0363: Proposal by Larry Slusser of the Legacy Group on <br />behalf of River Springs Charter School to consider a Certificate of Appropriateness <br />to rehabilitate the former YMCA building and site which is an Eligible Cultural <br />Resource, including removal and reconstruction of a portion of the building to <br />provide a stepped back second story while preserving the front fagade and the <br />rear gymnasium, for a new charter school for kindergarten through 12th grade <br />students located on an 2.8 acre site at 4020 Jefferson Street, situated on the <br />southwesterly side of Jefferson Street, between California Avenue and Garfield <br />Street in the R-1-7000— Single Family Residential Zone, in Ward 5. It is <br />recommended that the Cultural Heritage Board determine that this proposal is <br />exempt from California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) review pursuant to <br />Section 15332 as the project constitutes an in -fill development.
