Roll Call: <br />CULTURAL HERITAGE BOARD <br />MINUTES <br />WEDNESDAY, June 17,2015,3:30 P.M. <br />ART PICK COUNCIL CHAMBERS, CITY HALL <br />3900 MAIN STREET <br />Chair Pro Tern Van Wart called the meeting to order at 3:30 p.m. with all <br />members present, except Board Member Gilleece. <br />The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag. <br />COMMENTS FROM THE AUDIENCE <br />There were no oral comments at this time. <br />DISCUSSION CALENDAR <br />PLANNING CASE P14 -0840 — Certificate of Appropriateness — 1085 <br />Linden Street <br />Certificate of Appropriateness requested by Reach Leadership STEAM <br />Academy to establish a charter school on a 2.5 acre vacant portion of the <br />Eligible Cultural Resource, Grade Methodist Church site at 1085 Linden <br />Street. Gaby Adame, Assistant Planner, presented the staff report. Dan <br />Goon, representing the applicant, stated they were in agreement with the <br />recommended conditions. There were no comments from the audience. <br />Following discussion the Cultural Heritage Board: 1. Determined that <br />Planning Case P14 -0840 is exempt from the California Environmental <br />Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Section 15332 since the project <br />constitutes in -fill development that will not cause a substantial adverse <br />change in the significance of a historical resource; and 2. Approved <br />Planning Case P14 -0840 based on the findings outlined in the staff <br />report, subject to staff's recommended conditions, thereby issuing a <br />Certificate of Appropriateness for the project. <br />PLANNING CASE P14 -0363 — Certificate of Appropriateness — 4020 <br />Jefferson Street <br />Certificate of Appropriateness requested by Larry Slusser on behalf of <br />River Springs Charter School to rehabilitate the former YMCA building <br />and site which is an Eligible Cultural Resource, including removal and <br />reconstruction of a portion of the building to provide a stepped back <br />second story while preserving the front fagade and rear gymnasium. Teri <br />Delcamp, Historic Preservation Senior Planner, presented the staff <br />report. Larry Slusser, representing the applicant, stated they were in <br />agreement with the recommended conditions. There were no comments <br />from the audience.
