M. <br /> <br /> Present: Mayor D~les, presiding; Councilmen Backstrand, Bennett, Chamberlain, Goodspeed, <br /> O'Neill, Smutz and Voris; City M~nager King, City Attorney Ford and City Clerk Waite. <br /> <br /> The pledge of allegiance was given to the flag of the United States of America. <br /> <br /> The Lord's Prayer was recited in unison by the assembly. <br /> <br /> The minutes of the meeting of April 20, 1954, were read and approved. <br /> <br /> Burnell W. Phillips, representing the Northside Improve~nt Association, appeared before <br />the City Council relating to the extension of the Lease covering the use of Camo Rubido~, located at <br />De Anza Park, for the housing of Mexican Nationals~ and suggested in fairness to all concerned, that a <br />committee be appointed from the City Council, the Riverside Agricultural Association, and the Northside~ <br /> <br />Improvement AsSociation~ to ft~ther study the matter and to make a recommendation to the City Council <br />at a later date; whereupon, it was moved by Councilmnn O'Neill, seconded by Councilman Bennett, and <br />duly carried, that a co~nittee of seven persons be appointed~ consisting of two members from the City <br />Council, two representatives from the Riverside A~'icultural Association, two representatives of the <br />Northside Improvement Association, and the C~ty Manager, to further study this problem, and to report <br /> <br />with a recommendation to the City Council within a period of thirty days. <br /> This motion carried by the following vote: <br /> <br /> Ayes: Councilmen Backstrand, Bennett, Chamberlain, Goodspeed, O'Neill, Smutz and Voris. <br /> Noes: None. <br /> Absent: None. <br /> <br /> *** <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Voris~ seconded by Councilman Chamberlain, and duly carried, ~hs <br />the Surety Bond of Reseda Development Corp., as principal, and the Pacific Indemnity ConLoany, a cor- <br />poration~ as surety, in the amount of $40,500.00, guaranteeing the completion of streets, curbs, gutters, <br />double gutters, walkways, sanitary sewers and house connections, storm drains, and the planting of <br />ornamental trees in Hillside Manor, bei~ a subdivision of a portion of the northeast quarter of the <br />northwest quarter of Section 32, Township 2 South, Range 5 West, SBB&M~ be, and the same is hereby <br />approved and accepted. <br /> <br /> This motion carried by the following vote: <br /> <br /> Ayes: Councilmen Backstrand, Bennett, Chamberlain, Gocdspeed, O'Neill, Smutz and Voris. <br /> Noes: None. <br /> Absent: None. <br /> <br /> *** <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Voris, seconded by Council~n Chamberlain, and duly carried, <br /> that in consideration of the Agreement by the Subdivider to install sidewalks on Hillside Avenue and <br /> <br /> <br />
