CITY OF RIVERSIDE CITY COUNCIL COUNClLMEMBERS Minutes of: Time of Meeting: Place of Meeting: Date of Meeting: Regular Meeting of the City Council 2 p.m. Art Pick Council Chamber, City Hall April 27, 2004 WARDS Roll Call: Mayor Loveridge called the meeting to order at 2:15 p.m. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE Mary Shelton spoke regarding the personnel grievance of Al Kennedy. CLOSED SESSIONS The Mayor and City Council recessed to the City Council Board Room for closed sessions pursuant to Government Code §54956.9 to confer with and/or receive advice from legal counsel concerning (1) personnel grievance of Al Kennedy v. City of Riverside Police Department; (2) John Sabatello v. City of Riverside WCAB No. 040276; and (3) one case of anticipated litigation. The Mayor and Councilmembers returned to the Art Pick Council Chamber with all Members present except Councilmember Adams. CLOSED SESSIONS ANNOUNCEMENT City Attorney Priamos announced that in the closed session regarding Al Kennedy v. City of Riverside Police Department, the City Council unanimously authorized its attorneys to file a Writ of Mandate to the Riverside County Superior Court to reverse the arbitrator's decision in Mr. Kennedy's grievance challenging administrative discipline imposed by the Police Department. No further reportable actions were taken. RECESS The City Council recessed at 2:40 p.m. and reconvened at 3:05 p.m. with the Mayor and all Councilmembers present. WORKSHOP CODE COMPLIANCE DIVISION STRATEGIC PLAN - CONTINUED TO LATER IN DAY Following discussion and without formal motion, the City Council continued to later in the day the overview of the Code Compliance Division's Strategic Plan.
