INTERVIEW SCHEDULE <br />Tuesday, April 27, 2004 <br /> <br />DATE: 4-27-04 <br />ITEM NO.: 14 <br /> <br />HUMAN RELATIONS COMMISSION <br />Seventeen-member Commission, plus 2 ex-officio student members. <br /> <br />Positions to fill: <br /> <br />2 ex-officio student members <br /> <br />Selection criteria - Council Action of Mamh 15, 2004: · Resides within the Riverside City limits <br /> · Strong verbal communication skills <br /> · Maintains contact and communication with a diverse network of peers <br /> · Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of pressures faced by youth <br /> · Demonstrates experience or interest in problem solving challenges faced by youth <br /> · Experience in a class or club resolving multicultural issues is recommended <br /> <br />Alvord and Riverside Unified School District Superintendents nominated students from each of <br />the District high schools. The full City Council will interview the nominees and make final <br />appointments to the Human Relations Commission. Private schools were invited to participate <br />in the process. <br /> <br />Special Qualifications: <br />Section 2.16.020(B) Number of members--Qualifications. Thero shall be two ex-officio student <br />members. One shall be appointed by the Superintendent of Riverside Unified School District, <br />and one shall be appointed by the Superintendent of Alvord Unified School District. These ex- <br />officio members shall serve on the Commission for no more than one academic year.
