City ofArts 8Z Innovation <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MINUTES <br />TUESDAY, MARCH 21, 2023, 1 P.M. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT IN PERSON/TELEPHONE <br />ART PICK COUNCIL CHAMBER <br />3900 MAIN STREET <br />INTERGOVERNMENTAL RELATIONS AND LEGISLATIVE UPDATE <br />There was no update on Intergovernmental relations and legislation. <br />HOMELESS SOLUTIONS UPDATE <br />There was no update on homeless solutions. <br />SUSTAINABILITY UPDATE <br />There was no update on sustainability. <br />LEGAL UPDATE <br />There was no legal update. <br />COUNCILMEMBERS DECLARATION OF CONFLICT OF INTEREST <br />Councilmember Edwards recused herself from the Closed Session item regarding the <br />lease of property on the corner of Fifth and Orange Streets, commonly known as <br />Lot 33/Convention Center citing financial conflict. <br />DISCUSSION CALENDAR <br />REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL 2203 - SPONSORSHIP ASSET INVENTORY, VALUATION, NAMING <br />RIGHTS <br />Following discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Fierro and seconded by <br />Councilmember Cervantes to approve the Economic Development, Placemaking, <br />Branding, and Marketing Committee recommendation to (1) award Request for Proposal <br />2203 for Sponsorship Asset Inventory, Valuation, Naming Rights and Sales to the <br />Superlative Group, Inc., for a consultant retainer of $347,625 and 15 percent commission <br />on potential sales; (2) with at least five affirmative votes, authorized a supplemental <br />appropriation in the amount of $347,625 in the General fund, City Manager - <br />Administration, Professional Services Account; and (3) authorized the City Manager, or <br />designee, to execute the Professional Consultant Services Agreement, including <br />execution of the optional extension for one twelve-month period and making minor and <br />non -substantive changes as necessary. The motion carried with Councilmembers <br />Edwards, Cervantes, Fierro, Conder, and Hemenway and Councilwoman Plascencia <br />voting aye, and Councilmember Perry voting no. <br />108-275 <br />
