CITY COUNCIL <br />MINUTES <br />TUESDAY, MARCH 21, 2023, 1 P.M. <br />• PUBLIC COMMENT IN PERSON/TELEPHONE <br />City ffArts &Innovation ART PICK COUNCIL CHAMBER <br />3900 MAIN STREET <br />PRESENT: Mayor Lock Dawson, Councilmembers Edwards, Cervantes, Fierro, Conder, <br />Perry, and Hemenway and Councilwoman Plascencia <br />ABSENT: None <br />Mayor Lock Dawson called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m. <br />Ms. Leah Stuart from Giverside gave the invocation. <br />City Clerk Gause led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE <br />Errol Koschewitz spoke regarding former City staff retirement benefits and CalPERS <br />pension obligation. Adam Dale Sappenfield spoke regarding violence and local street <br />gang in Norco. Aurora Chavez spoke regarding City transit minibus maintenance and <br />residents doing a great job with their yard upkeep. <br />MAYOR/COUNCILMEMBER COMMUNICATIONS <br />Member Edwards reported on Riverside Downtown Partnership Annual Meeting, <br />Kalaveras Restaurant grand opening, co -hosting with Councilmember Cervantes a <br />Workshop on LGBTQ Context Statement and a 2nd gathering at the Main Library, office <br />hours at Fairmount Park, Downtown Area Neighborhood Alliance meeting, meeting with <br />Family Promise Executive Director, Wild and Scenic Film Festival and Eco Fair, and recited <br />a quote on Homelessness. Councilmember Cervantes reported on stakeholders <br />Workshop on LGBTQ Context Statement, 2nd Eastside Active Leadership meeting and <br />thanked Nathan Mustafa for attending, 35th Annual Downtown Partnership meeting, <br />Lincoln Park Neighborhood meeting, annual Easter Egg Hunt, and Democrats of Greater <br />Riverside for Women's History Month. Councilmember Conder reported on Riverside <br />County Water Task Force meeting and California water drought. Councilwoman <br />Plascencia thanked attendees of the Ward 5 community meeting on development <br />project and reported on League of California Cities Community Economic Development <br />Committee meeting on Senate Bill 4 and Keep Riverside Clean and Beautiful. <br />Councilmember Hemenway reported on Ward 7 La Sierra Senior Center. Mayor Lock <br />Dawson thanked Riverside Land Conservatory for partnering with the City on the Main <br />Street Cleanup and Planting Project and Riverside Downtown Partnership for honoring <br />Beautify Riverside and reported on National League of Cities conference. <br />108-274 <br />
