Ward Six (6) is one of three Latino CVAP Majority/Voting Rights Act Wards. The 6thWard has one of the highest Latino
CVAP at 58.3 %. These neighborhood communities attend nearby churches and some residents formed soccer teams and
play against each other at Bryant Park. They developed a community garden near Arlanza Elementary School where
residents rent their own spots to grow and harvest food. Map A4 Modified allows for the ward to extend slightly past Van
Buren Blvd. to encompass the shopping centers that were brought into the community this past year on Arlington and Van
Buren.
Please join us in supporting Map A4 Modified. In terms of sequencing: We request that Latino majority wards be
enumerated in such ways that they fall on PRESIDENTIAL year elections to encourage higher voter turnout.
Thank you.
Frances J. Vasquez
Ward Six resident, Coordinator of Allenby/Banbury/Bonneville Neighborhood Watch
francesjvasquezkgmail.com
