CITY COUNCIL MINUTES TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 14, 2023, 1 P.M. • PUBLIC COMMENT IN PERSON/TELEPHONE City of Arts &Innovation ART PICK COUNCIL CHAMBER 3900 MAIN STREET PRESENT: Mayor Lock Dawson, Councilmembers Cervantes, Fierro, Conder, Perry, and Hemenway and Councilwoman Plascencia ABSENT: Councilmember Edwards Mayor Lock Dawson called the meeting to order at 1:01 p.m. Councilmember Fierro gave the invocation and led the Pledge of Allegiance. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE There was no one wishing to address the City Council. Councilmember Edwards is out on jury duty. MAYOR/COUNCILMEMBER COMMUNICATIONS Councilmember Cervantes thanked City Attorney Norton for attending a neighborhood meeting in Ward 2 and Dell and Carmen Roberts, The African American Historical Society, Bordwell Park Advisory group, Martin Luther King Group and all those involved with planning the Black History Parade, and the Fire Department for transporting the City Council, and reported on the Latino Network meeting. Councilmember Conder reported on the Black History Parade and the grand opening of the Associated Builders and Contractors Regional Training facility. Councilwoman Plascencia announced office hours at Bourns Youth Innovation Center with featured guest City Manager Mike Futrell. Mayor Lock Dawson reported on Beautify Riverside at Bourns Youth Innovation Center and thanked the Police Department for hosting a Use of Force Training. The City Council Safety, Wellness and Youth Committee will conduct an in-person and virtual meeting at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, in the Art Pick Council Chamber. COMMUNICATIONS INTERGOVERNMENTAL RELATIONS AND LEGISLATIVE UPDATE There was no update on Intergovernmental relations and legislation. HOMELESS SOLUTIONS UPDATE The City Council received an update on homeless solutions. 108-230
