CITY COUNCIL <br />MINUTES <br />TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 14, 2023, 1 P.M. <br />• PUBLIC COMMENT IN PERSON/TELEPHONE <br />City of Arts &Innovation ART PICK COUNCIL CHAMBER <br />3900 MAIN STREET <br />PRESENT: Mayor Lock Dawson, Councilmembers Cervantes, Fierro, Conder, Perry, and <br />Hemenway and Councilwoman Plascencia <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Edwards <br />Mayor Lock Dawson called the meeting to order at 1:01 p.m. <br />Councilmember Fierro gave the invocation and led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE <br />There was no one wishing to address the City Council. <br />Councilmember Edwards is out on jury duty. <br />MAYOR/COUNCILMEMBER COMMUNICATIONS <br />Councilmember Cervantes thanked City Attorney Norton for attending a neighborhood <br />meeting in Ward 2 and Dell and Carmen Roberts, The African American Historical Society, <br />Bordwell Park Advisory group, Martin Luther King Group and all those involved with <br />planning the Black History Parade, and the Fire Department for transporting the City <br />Council, and reported on the Latino Network meeting. Councilmember Conder reported <br />on the Black History Parade and the grand opening of the Associated Builders and <br />Contractors Regional Training facility. Councilwoman Plascencia announced office <br />hours at Bourns Youth Innovation Center with featured guest City Manager Mike Futrell. <br />Mayor Lock Dawson reported on Beautify Riverside at Bourns Youth Innovation Center <br />and thanked the Police Department for hosting a Use of Force Training. <br />The City Council Safety, Wellness and Youth Committee will conduct an in-person and <br />virtual meeting at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, in the Art Pick Council <br />Chamber. <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br />INTERGOVERNMENTAL RELATIONS AND LEGISLATIVE UPDATE <br />There was no update on Intergovernmental relations and legislation. <br />HOMELESS SOLUTIONS UPDATE <br />The City Council received an update on homeless solutions. <br />108-230 <br />
