Commission on Aging Commission Minutes November 18, 2019 Commissioner Uhuti mentioned she attended the Regional AARP meeting in San Diego. Meeting with Mayor Bailey is scheduled on November 26 at 11 am. Commissioner Van Doren mention attending Purple Boat Float and then welcomed Erin Edwards as the new councilmember of Ward 1. Commissioner Keller mentioned that the Purple Boat Float was a lovely event, great opportunity to be a Santa to a Senior. Commissioner Kelly handed out Festival of Trees flier, discussed the Senior Stroll they will offer on Saturday November 30, 2019 from 2 - 4pm. DISCUSSION 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES After discussion, the Commission approved the minutes with change for the October 21, 2019 meeting. Motion: Commissioner Uhuti Ayes: All 4. DETERMINE WHETHER COMMISSIONER VICKI BROACH'S ABSENCE FROM THE REGULAR COMMISSION ON AGING MEETING 10/21/2019, SHOULD BE RECORDED AS AN EXCUSED OR UNEXCUSED ABSENCE. Motion: Commissioner Tavaglione Ayes: All Communication Ad Hoc Committee to report on Advocacy Commissioner Uhuti reported committee recently met and scheduled a meeting with Mayor Bailey. Ad Hoc Committee to report on Events Chair Fleishman reported hosting a Brunch/Lunch Mount Rubidoux Holiday meal, date TBA. Ad Hoc Committee to report on Resources Commissioner Van Doren would like list of Ad Hoc Committees. Asked if there can be more than three Commissioners on a committee, Director Cruz confirmed more than three can be on a committee. Ad Hoc Committee to report on Emergency Preparedness Chair Fleishman thanked Luisa Tassan for making the Commission aware of AB477, would like extended to next year.
