Commission on Aging Commission Minutes July 15, 2019 <br />Chair Fleischman mentioned that the Community Settlement Association (CSA), along with <br />Councilman Melendez offers social services and is a resources for the eastside. A Saturday <br />Night Market will be held twice a month at CSA and the event will offer vendors, live music and <br />information booths. The event will be 6:00 — 10:OOpm. Future dates will be July 27, August 10 <br />and August 24. Recommendation was made for Commission on Aging to host an informational <br />booth. <br />Vice -Chair Broach mentioned a problem in Ward 3 for seniors. A group calling themselves Los <br />Amigos stage parties which bring hundreds of people, loud music and are located at 6201 <br />Athean Way, near the Gage Canal. They have had three parties already and the parties were <br />offered on Trip Advisor. <br />Director Cruz stated that he was aware of the situation and would inquire for more information. <br />DISCUSSION <br />3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />After discussion, the Commission approved the minutes with REVISED changes for the June <br />11, 2019 meeting. <br />Motion: Broach <br />Ayes: All <br />4. DETERMINE WHETHER CHAIR SHARI FLEISCHMAN'S ABSENCE FROM THE <br />COMMISSION ON AGING MEETING JUNE 11, 2019, SHOULD BE RECORDED AS <br />AN EXCUSED OR UNEXCUSED ABSENCE. <br />Following discussion and without formal motion, the members approved <br />5. DETERMINE WHETHER COMMISSIONER CHERLY TAVAGLIONE'S ABSENCE <br />FROM THE COMMISSION ON AGING MEETING JUNE 11, 2019, SHOULD BE <br />RECORDED AS AN EXCUSED OR UNEXCUSED ABSENCE. <br />After discussion, a motion was made for Chair Fleischman to follow up with Commissioner <br />Tavaglione and move item to next meeting. <br />6. DETERMINE WHETHER COMMISSIONER GLORIA MORENO-KELMAN'S <br />ABSENCE FROM THE COMMISSION ON AGING MEETING JUNE 11, 2019, <br />SHOULD BE RECORDED AS AN EXCUSED OR UNEXCUSED ABSENCE. <br />After discussion, a motion was made to remove Commissioner Moreno -Kelman, due to <br />excessive absences. <br />Page 7 <br />
