zs <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />29 <br />N <br />M <br />BE IT RESOLVED TEAT, <br />1) water is vital to local and State interests and <br />best management practices must be applied to the utilization <br />of existing developed water supplies, including expansion of <br />conservation and recycling efforts statewide; and <br />2) as the State population increases, additional water <br />supply is needed to meet the needs of urban areas, the <br />environment, and agriculture, and <br />3) there must be a balancing of and protection for the <br />reasonable water needs of the environment, urban areas, and <br />agriculture; and <br />4) a statewide, long-range comprehensive water plan is <br />needed to integrate existing water supply systems with new <br />water supply systems for the benefit of present and future <br />environmental, urban, and agricultural needs; and <br />5) the planning process used in developing the long- <br />range integrated water plan should consider all options <br />including all sources of water, all anticipated future water <br />demands and needs, the modification of existing water supply <br />systems and facilities, and the development of new water <br />supply systems and facilities; and <br />6) the planning process must also recognize the <br />importance of preventing, reducing or eliminating pollution, <br />and the impacts pollution has on water uses for fish and <br />other wildlife, recreation, pnd the public drinking water <br />supply; and <br />
