Roll Call: <br />CULTURAL HERITAGE BOARD <br />MINUTES <br />WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 18, 2017, 3:30 P.M. <br />ART PICK COUNCIL CHAMBERS, CITY HALL <br />3900 MAIN STREET <br />Chair Lech called the meeting to order at 3:30 p.m. with all members <br />present, except Board Member Preston - Chavez. <br />The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag. <br />COMMENTS FROM THE AUDIENCE <br />There were no oral comments at this time. <br />DISCUSSION CALENDAR <br />PLANNING CASE P17 -0031 — Certificate of Appropriateness — 3933 <br />Mission Inn Avenue (Ward 1) <br />Certificate of Appropriateness request by Shonda Herold, of Wakeland <br />Housing Development Corporation, for the construction of a mixed -use <br />project containing: 72 affordable housing units, 5,400 square feet of office <br />and meeting space for the Fair Housing Council of Riverside County, and <br />3,700 square feet of museum /exhibition space for the Civil Rights Institute. <br />Scott Watson, Assistant Planner, presented the staff report. He stated that <br />two letters in support of the project, an email and a phone call in opposition <br />were received by staff. A copy of the email was distributed to the Board <br />this afternoon. Shonda Herold, Wakeland Housing Development <br />Corporation, addressed the Board and thanked staff for their work on this <br />project. She stated they would be happy to take the Board's comments <br />regarding a taller species of trees into consideration. Comments from the <br />audience: Dawn Hassett, spoke in support of the project.
