l� <br />CITY OF <br />IZIVEIZSIDE <br />City ?f Arts & Innovation <br />City Council Memorandum <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL DATE: MARCH 14, 2017 <br />FROM: CITY CLERK <br />WARDS: ALL <br />SUBJECT: SELECTION OF 2016 CITY SPIRIT AWARD RECIPIENT <br />ISSUE: <br />Select a community member that exemplifies community spirit, good citizenship, and dedication <br />to enhancing the quality of life in the City as recipient of the 2016 City Spirit Award. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />The Mayor's Nominating and Screening Committee recommends that the City Council: <br />1. Select Henry Coil to receive the 2016 City Spirit Award to honor his extraordinary deeds <br />and community spirit, good citizenship, and dedication to enhancing the quality of life in <br />the City; and <br />2. Request the City Clerk to notify Mr. Coil and coordinate with the Mayor's Office to <br />schedule presentation of the award at an upcoming City Council meeting. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Mayor and City Council have honored a community member each year since the <br />establishment of the City Spirit Award in 1995.
