CORNER OF HARRISON/COUNTY <br />FARM - 9851 MAGNOLIA <br />The City Council upheld the action of the Planning Commission in approving, <br />subject to modified conditions, the proposal of Lowe's, Inc./Real Estate Affiliates, <br />Inc., to establish a Workforce Development Center within an approximately 100'000- <br />square-foot single-story building at the southweste~y comer of Harrison Street and <br />County Farm Road to include a culinary academy, a self-service job search facility, <br />meeting rooms, administrative offices, classrooms, and a computer laboratory, on <br />approximately 26.4 acres occupied by the former Riverside County General Hospital <br />facility at 9851 Magnolia Avenue, situated on the southwesterly side of Harrison <br />Street between Magnolia Avenue and County Farm Road, in tentatively approved <br />Zones C-2 and RO-S-4; upheld the Commission's determination that the proposal <br />would not have a significant effect on the environment; concurred in the adoption of <br />the Negative Declaration; and found there is no evidence that the project will have <br />any potential for adverse effect on wildlife resources and the impacts of the project <br />are found to be de minimis pursuant to Section 711.4 of the Fish and Game Code. <br /> <br />ZONING CASE VR-113-989 - 9851 MAGNOLIA <br />The City Council upheld the action of the Planning Commission in approving, <br />subject to modified conditions, the proposal of Lowe's, Inc./Real Estate Affiliates, <br />Inc., to permit encroachment of buildings up to approximately 27 feet into the <br />42-foot-deep special building setback established along Magnolia Avenue for the <br />development of approximately 26.4 acres occupied by the former Riverside County <br />General Hospital facility at 9851 Magnolia Avenue to include a proposed major <br />home improvement store (Lowe's), satellite commercial buildings, a large <br />office/training center building, and related parking, situated on the southwesterly side <br />of Harrison Street between Magnolia Avenue and County Farm Road, in Zones C-2 <br />and RO-S-4; upheld the Commission's determination that the proposal would not <br />have a significant effect on the environment; concurred in the adoption of the <br />Negative Declaration; and found there is no evidence that the project will have any <br />potential for adverse effect on wildlife resources and the impacts of the project are <br />found to be de minimis pursuant to Section 711.4 of the Fish and Game Code. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />BID 5609 - VILLEGAS PARK LIGHTING PROJECT <br />The City Council (1) approved the bid withdrawal request from Nevada BKD <br />Corporation and the release of their bid bond; (2) awarded Bid 5609 to Power <br />Distributors, Inc., in the amount of $110,002 for Base Bid Items I-A and I-B and <br />Additive Bid Items II-A and II-B (Project Accounts 2835100-453923 and 9719352- <br />440301) for the Villegas Park Lighting Project; and (3) authorized the preparation of <br />the appropriate contract documents for execution by the City Manager or his <br />designee. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBERS <br /> <br />BMDKCTP <br />EOEALHE <br />AOFNIOA <br />TREEFMR <br />YEN FPS <br />B OSO <br />A RON <br />U D N <br />G <br />H <br /> <br />WARDS <br /> <br />1 2 3 4 5 6 7 <br /> <br />85-177 <br /> <br /> <br />
