CITY OF RIVERSIDE CITY COUNCIL Minutes of: Date of Meeting: Time of Meeting: Place of Meeting: Regular Meeting of the City Council December 21, 1999 9 a.m. Council Chamber, City Hall Roll Call: The Invocation was given by Councilmember Clifford. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the Flag. PRESENTATIONS Mayor Loveridge called on Public Utilities Director Bill Camahan who introduced the City Streets - Holiday Style Decoration Contest. Each Councilmember presented an award to the best decorated home in their Ward. Mayor Loveridge presented a Proclamation to Bruce Kulpa, Executive Director for the Riverside Housing Development Corporation, and his staff for providing low- income grants and loans to over 500 families in the City of Riverside. MAYOR PRO TEMPORE Mayor Loveridge presented a plaque to Councilmember Kane for her dedicated services as Mayor Pro Tempore from June 22 through December 31, 1999. The City Council appointed Councilmember Defenbaugh as Mayor Pro Tempore for January 1 through June 30, 2000. CONSENT CALENDAR The following items, presented to the City Council on the Consent Calendar for consideration, were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to each item. MINUTES The Minutes of the Meetings of December 14, 1999, were approved as presented. PLANNING COMMISSION ZONING CASE RZ-021-989 - 9851 MAGNOLIA The City Council upheld the action of the Planning Commission in approving, subject to modified conditions, the proposal of Lowe's, Inc./Real Estate Affiliates, Inc., for a site plan for the development of a proposed major home improvement store (Lowe's), satellite commercial buildings, a large office/training center building, and related parking on approximately 26.4 acres occupied by the former Riverside County General Hospital facility at 9851 Magnolia Avenue, situated on the southwesterly side of Harrison Street between Magnolia Avenue and County Farm Road; upheld the Commission's determination that the proposal would not have a significant effect on the environment; concurred in the adoption of the Negative Declaration; and found there is no evidence that the project will have any potential for adverse effect COUNCILMEMBERS BMDKCTP EOEALHE AOFNIOA TREEFMR YEN FPS B OSO A RON U DN G H WARDS 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 Present XXXXXXX Motion Second All Ayes X X Motion Second All Ayes X X 85-176
