<br />~MINUTES
<br />~The Minutes of the Meeting of March 24, 1981, were approved, amended to delete
<br />'Condition No. 5 relating to the vacation of a portion of Miramonte Place, Case
<br />'VAC-14-789, on Pages 66-413 and 66-414.
<br />
<br />,The Chair recognized the presence in the audience of Carl Campbell representing the
<br />,Riverside Chamber of Commerce, Don Pulsifer representing the Arlington Chamber of
<br />,Commerce and Robert Ashley representing the La Sierra Chamber of Commerce.
<br />
<br /> Mayor Brown introduced Mel Edwards and his Barbershop Quartet, members of the Riverside
<br /> Citrus Belters Chapter of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber-
<br /> shop Quartet Singing in America, and presented a Proclamation to Mr. Edwards proclaimin~
<br /> the month of April as "Barbershop Harmony Month".

<br /> CONSENT CALENDAR
<br />The following items were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to
<br />those items listed on the Consent Calendar and as submitted to the City Council for
<br />consideration, with the exception of Zoning Case C-28-612 (Revised) which was set for
<br />~public hearing, and the status report regarding the Community Development Block Grant
<br />~Program which was removed to the Discussion Calendar.

<br />, communication was presented from the City Planning Commission advising that, on
<br />~March 5, 1981, the Commission, by a vote of 8 ayes to 0 noes and 1 abstention, approved
<br />~subject to conditions the request of the Mission Bank, Zoning Case C-20-789 (Revised),
<br />'for
<br />, a two-year time extension and a revised conditional use permit to expand an exist-
<br />'in
<br />, g modular building and to remove a temporary modular unit on approximately .9 acre
<br />,of land situated on the northeasterly corner of Nelson Street and Magnolia Avenue,
<br /> be~ 6814 Magnolia Avenue, in Zones C-3-D; and determined that the proposal would

<br />~A communication was presented from the City Planning Commission advising that, on
<br />~March 5, 1981, the Commission, by a vote of 7 ayes to 2 noes, approved subject to
<br />,condxt~ons the request of A. L. Jones, Zoning Case C-23-801, for a conditional use
<br />~permit to establish, operate and maintain a short-term child care center for up to 36
<br />~children and a day care center for up to 24 children within a commercial site shared
<br />,with another user on property situated on the northerly corner of Magnolia Avenue and
<br />Megginson Lane, being at 10043-47 Magnolia Avenue, in Zone C-2; and determined that
<br />the proposal would not have a significant adverse environmental effect. It was
<br />determined that the matter would not be set for public hearing by the City Council.

<br /> ZONING CASE C-28-612 (REVISED) - FAITH LUTHERAN CHURCH - 4785 JACKSON STREET -
<br /> SET FOR PUBLIC ItEARING
<br /> A communication was presented from the City Planning Commission advising that, on
<br />March 19, 1981, the Commission, by a vote of 4 ayes to 5 noes, contrary to the Planning
<br />Department's recommendation, failed to approve the request of Faith Lutheran Church,
<br />~Zoning Case C-28-612 (Revised), for a revised conditional use permit to erect a wall
<br />~sign containing approximately 25½ square feet in area where a maximum of 12 square
<br />~feet in area is permitted, on property situated on the northeasterly side of Jackson
<br />~Street northwesterly of Colorado Avenue, located at 4785 Jackson Street, in Zone
<br />~R-1-65. It was determined that this matter would be set for public hearing by the

<br />. ty Council on April 28, 1981, at 3 p.m.
