<br />,A Certificate of Appreciation from the Riverside Chambers of Commerce, various other
<br />gifts from area merchants and a Proclamation from Mayor Brown were presented to Senior
<br />,Airman Ralph Rivera, Airman of the M~nth from March Air Force Base.
<br />
<br />Mayor Brown presented a Plaque of Appreciation to Councilman Buster for his dedicated
<br />service as Mayor Pro Tempore from January through June, 1982.
<br />
<br />APPOINTMENT OF MAYOR PRO TEMPORE
<br />In accordance with previously-established policy, Councilwoman Mansfield was appointed
<br />to serve as Mayor Pro Tempore for the period July 1, 1982, through December 31, 1982.
<br />
<br />CONSENT CALENDAR
<br />The following items were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to
<br />those items listed on the Consent Calendar and as submitted to the City Council for
<br />iconsideration, with the exception of Zoning Case C-12-645 (ReviSed), Bid No. 3449
<br />Pierce Street Pump Station, furnishing palm fronds to community groups, customer
<br />relations training course, and project review of SONGS accounting controls, all of
<br />which were removed to the Discussion Calendar.

<br /> ZONING CASE CCP-2-812 - VIA ZAPATA CONDOMINIUMS - 1010 VIA ZAPATA
<br />;A communication was presented from the City Planning Commission advising that, on
<br />iJune 17, 1982, the CommissiOn, by a vote of 7 ayes to 0 noes, approved subject to
<br />,conditions the proposal of Via Zapata Condominiums, Zoning Case CCP-2-812, to convert
<br />,a 16-unit apartment complex known as Vista Castile Apartments to condominiums on
<br />,approximately .7 acre of land located at 1010 Via Zapata, situated on the west side of
<br />:Via Zapata southerly of Central Avenue, in Zone R-3. It was determined that the City
<br />iCouncil would not set the matter for public hearing.

<br /> ZONING CASE C-24-812 - SANTA ANA WATERSHED PROJECT AUTHORITY, ET AL. - SAMPSON AND
<br /> BUCHANAN
<br />A communication was presented from the City Planning Commission advising that, on
<br />[June 3, 1982, the Commission, by a vote of 8 ayes to 0 noes, approved subject to
<br />,conditions the request of the Santa Aria Watershed Project Authority, et al., Zoning
<br />Case C-24-812, for a conditional use permit to establish, operate and maintain a
<br />facility for the disposal of saline liquids from trucks into a buried pipeline located
<br />at the southwesterly corner of Sampson and Buchanan Streets, in Zone RA. It was
<br />determined that the City Council would not set the matter for public hearing.

<br />that, on June 9, 1982, the Commission, by a vote of 8 ayes to 0 noes, determined that
<br />~the proposed conditional use permit of the Santa Ana Watershed Project Authority,
<br />~et al., to establish, operate and maintain a facility for the disposal of saline
<br />
