<br /> :CASE VAC-7-834 - EXCESS RIGHTS-OF-WAY ON NE. SIDE OF PALM AND ON SW. SIDE OF PINE
<br /> :A communication was presented from the City Planning Commission advising that, on
<br /> :March 22, 1984, the Commission, by a vote of 6 ayes to 0 noes, approved subject to
<br /> Iconditions the request of James Hlldebrandt to vacate an approximate 7-foot-wide by
<br /> ~307-foot-long portion of excess right-of-way on the northeast side of Palm Avenue and
<br /> ,an approximate 3-foot-wide by 170-foot-long portion of excess right-of-way on the
<br /> esouthwest side of Pine Street, generally situated northerly of Toquesquite Avenue
<br /> isoutherly of Fourteenth Street, Case VAC-7-834. The Public Works Department was
<br /> ,requested to furnish the necessary legal description required in connection with the
<br /> proposed vacation, and ~he City Attorney was authorized to prepare the appropriate
<br /> ,resolution for City Council consideration to set the matter for public hearing.

<br /> .BOARD OF ADMINISTRATIVE APPEALS AND ZONING ADJUSTMENT

<br /> ZONING CASE V-98-834 - L. DE JOUNGE - 4948 ARLINGTON AVENUE
<br /> :A communication was presented from the Board of Administrative Appeals and Zoning
<br /> :Adjustment advising that, on March 5, 1984, the Board considered the request of
<br /> :L. de Jounge, Zoning Case V-98-834, for a variance to (A) use a landscaped hedge ~n
<br /> ~lleu of the required six-foot-high masonry wall required ~0 separate parking areas
<br /> :from adjacen~ res~dent~ally-developed properties; and (B) provide turf-stone surfacing
<br /> ~in lieu of asphal~ic concrete or concrete paving for the parking area on property
<br /> :situated on the south side of Arlington Avenue easterly of Madison Street, located at
<br /> :4948 Arlington Avenue, in Zone R-1-65, proposed for Zone RO; and, by a vote of 6 ayes
<br /> :to 0 noes, approved subject to conditions the staff alternate as follows: (A) a
<br /> :two-way driveway approximately 17 feet rather than 20 feet wide; (B) wooden or chain
<br /> :link fencing instead of block walls along the easterly property line; and (C) turf-
<br /> :stone rather than asphaltic concrete paving, with parking spaces defined; and deter-
<br /> :mined that the proposal would not have a significant adverse environmental effect. It
<br /> :was determined that the City Council would not set the matter for public hearing.

<br /> ZONING CASE V-104-834 - HOCHEPOT VILLA - 3490 MADISON STREET - DENIAL
<br /> :A communication was presented from the Board of Administrative Appeals and Zoning
<br /> iAdjustment advising that, on March 19, 1984, the Board, by a vote of 4 ayes to 1 no
<br /> ,and i abstention, denied the request of Hochepot Villa, Zoning Case V-104-834, to
<br /> iinstall copy on an existing 284-square-foot roof-mounted unused sign structure within
<br /> tan existing commercial center which presently maintains a 204-square-foot, 45-foot-high
<br /> :freestanding sign identifying Denny's Restaurant where one 150-square-foot, 40'foot-
<br /> :high sign identifying the center or a 125-square-foot, 30-foot-high sign identifying
<br /> 'two tenants or a 75-square-foot roof-mounted sign is permitted on property situated on
