Joe Miller, Divine Word Seminary. <br /> <br />'The <br />, Pledge of Allegiance was given to the Flag. <br /> <br />~MINUTES <br />~The Minutes of the Meeting of April 23, 1985, were approved as corrected to show that Motion ~X~ <br />~Councilman Shepard was out of town representing the City at a meeting of the American Second ~ ~X <br />Public Transit Association. Ayes ~X~ X[X~X;X]X~ <br />' Not Voting <br />|The Chair recognized the presence in the audience of Bill Chapman representing the <br />Riverside Chamber of Commerce, A1 Pihl representing the Arlington Chamber of Commerce, <br />Steve Kelly representing the La Sierra Chamber of Commerce, Ed Carloni representing <br />the Magnolia Center Chamber of Commerce and Art Conte representing the Riverside , <br />Downtown Association. <br /> <br /> PRESENTATION <br />Alberta Sims and Rex Jackson, representing the American Heart Association, and Linda <br />Dunn, representing the Inland Counties Hypertension Control Coordinating Committee, <br />made a presentation relative to high blood pressure. Students from the California <br />Paramedical & Technical College checked the blood pressure of the City Council. Mayor <br />'Pro Tempore Peterson then presented to them a proclamation declaring the month of May <br />'as National High Blood Pressure Month. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />~The following items were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to Motion X: <br />,those items listed on the Consent Calendar and as submitted to the City Council for Second :X: <br />,consideration. All Ayes <br /> <br /> CITY PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> <br /> ZONING CASE C-36-778 (REVISED) - SHELL OIL COMPANY - 3621 IOWA AVENUE <br />A communication was presented from the City Planning Commission advising that, on <br />April 4, 1985, the Commission, by a vote of 8 ayes to 1 no, approved subject to <br />conditions the request of Shell Oil Company, Zoning Case C-36-778 (Revised), for a <br />revised conditional use permit to establish a self-serve gas station and mini mart <br />~including sale of beer and wine on approximately .5 acre of land at 3621 Iowa Avenue, <br />~developed with an existing service station, portions of which may be removed, situated <br />'on the northwest corner of Iowa Avenue and Blaine Street, in Zone C-2; and determined <br />Ithat the proposal would not have a significant adverse effect on the environment. It <br />, as determined that the City Council would not set the matter for public hearing. <br /> <br />~ZONING CASE C-25-845 - M. 3. BARTH - 3941, 3951, 3955 AND 3965 POLK <br />~A communication was presented from the City Planning Commission advising that, on <br />~April 4, 1985, the Commission, by a vote of 7 ayes to 0 noes, approved subject to <br />.conditions the request of M. J. Berth, Zoning Case C-25-845, for a conditional use <br /> i establish a 250-unit retirement center on approximately 5.9 acres of land <br /> perm t to <br />,at 3941, 3951, 3955 and 3965 Polk Street, e portion developed with residences and the <br />,remainder vacant, situsted on the easterly side of Polk Street northwesterly of <br />'Magnolia Avenue, in Zone R-1-65; and determined that the proposal would not have a <br />significant adverse effect on the environment. It was determined that the City <br />Council would not set the matter for p~blic hearing. <br /> <br /> ZONING CASE C-28-B45 - D. W. BODOEB - 2612 C~AtrNCY PLACE <br />A communication was presented from the City Planning Commission advising that, on <br />~April 4, 1985, the Commission, by a vote of 9 ayes to 0 noes, approved subject to <br />conditions the request of D. W.
