<br />TIHE EXTENSION ON CONDITIONS OF APPROVAL - ZONING CASE R-62-856
<br />A co~munication was presented from Charles Brown, Architect, requesting a time extension
<br />from [ebruary 25, 1988, in which co complete the conditions of approval under Zoning
<br />Case R-62-856, relating to the approximately .2 acre of land a= 3485 Vista Avenue, situ-
<br />ated on the northerly side of Vista Avenue easterly of Orange Street. Petition for a
<br />zone change from Zones R-1-65 and HC Co Zone MP was 8ranted on February 25, 1986; and
<br />=his is the first request for a time extension. This case has been active less =hat
<br />five years and is eligible for a time extension without a public hearing. The time ex-
<br />tension was granted to September 24, 1990, retroactive to February 25, 1988, to coincide
<br />with the expiration date of Zoning Cases R-109-845 and R-54-856.

<br />In consideration of the recommendation from the Administrative Services Department, the
<br />work of constructing a refuse bin enclosure at =he Riverside Municipal Airport, located
<br />at 6951 Flight Road, by Lewis & Clark Construction Company, was accepted as completed;
<br />aD~ execution of the Notice of Completion was authorized and directed.

<br />In consideration of the reccamnendation from the Public Utilities Department, =he work of
<br />inspec=in~ and preserving =rearmen= below groundline of approximately 1,000 wood poles
<br />a= various locations throughout the City, by Loadmes=er Syscoms, Inc., was accepted as
<br />completed; and execution of the Notice of Completion was authorized and directed.

<br />In consideration of the recommendation from the Purchasin~ Services Manager, the Public
<br />Utilities Department, =he Board of Public Utilities and the Fleet Mauagement Superintend-
<br />en=, the bid of Lakeside Chevrolet, in =he amount of j~9,445.82, was accepted for fur-
<br />nishing the Public Utilities Department, Water Division, with one current model flatbed
<br />truck with a 1,000-pound capacity lift gate and chlorinator unit. All ocher bids were
<br />rejected; and the Purchasing Services Manager was authorized co proceed with the pur-
<br />chase by Purchase Order.

<br />In consideration of the recommendation from the Purchasing Services Manager and the Ad-
<br />ministrative Services Department, Building Division, the bid of .Air Cold Supply, in
<br />amount of $22,375.54, was accepted for furnishing the Administrative Services Depart-
<br />men=, Building Services Division, with one reciprocating liquid chills=. All ocher bids
<br />were rejected; and the Purchasing Services Maneget was authorized co proceed with the
<br />purchase by Purchase Order.

<br />In consideration of the recommendation from the Purchasing Services Plauager, the Park
<br />and Recreatio~ Department and =he Flee= Manegement Superintendent, =he bid of Los Angel-
<br />es Freightliner, in the amount of 331,567.52, was accepted for furnishing the Park and
<br />Recreation Department, Tree Division, with one current model dump truck. All ocher bids
<br />were rejected; and =he Purchasing Services Manager was authorized to proceed with the
<br />purchase by Purchase Order.

<br />BID NO. 4259 - CHEMICAL AND BACTERIOLOGICAL ANALYSIS OF WATER SAMPLES - FUBLIC UTILITIES
<br />DEPARTMENT, WATER DIVISION
<br />In consideration of the recommendation from =he Purchasing Services Manager, the Public
<br />Utilities Department and =he Board of Public Utilities, =he bid of Edward S. Babcock &
<br />Sons, Inc., being the second-low .bidder, in =he amount of ~35,856 for Total Base Bid
<br />(24 months), was accepted for performing chemical and bacteriological analysis of water
<br />samples for the Public Utilities Department, Water Division, on the basis of =heir bid
<br />being the lowest responsible "Life Cycle Cost" (LCC) bid--which analysis cook into con-
<br />sideration the total overall cos= co =he City over the contract period of 24 months.
<br />All ocher bids were rejected; and the Purchasing Services Manager was authorized to pro-
<br />ceed with =he purchase by Purchase Order.
