<br />MINUTES
<br />The Minutes of the Meeting of March 22, 1988, were approved as submitted, with modifica-
<br />tions to the items on Page 73-397 regarding (1) traffic problems and school crossings to
<br />add the sentence "Further, the City Council requested the newly-formed connnittee to pre-
<br />sent a report by August 1, 1988;" and (2) crossing guards at Tyler Street and Cook Ave-
<br />hue to add the sentence 'Further, it was determined that the community and Parents
<br />Against Traffic Hazards (F.A.T.H.) representatives ~ould be consulted by City staff be-
<br />fore any of the existing stop signs at the intersection of Tyler Street and Cook Avenue
<br />might be removed."

<br />PRESENTATIONS
<br />
<br />Mayor Brown called on Bud Stone who introduced members of a Rotary Study Exchange Team
<br />from Denmark.
<br />
<br />Hayor Brown presented Resolution No. 16770 of the City Council of the City of Riverside,
<br />California, Proclaiming the Week of April 2-9, 1988, as National C~unity Development
<br />Week, adopted by the City Council on March 22, 1988, to Morris Mendoze, Vice President
<br />of the Community Development Advisory Committee.
<br />
<br />The Chair recognized the presence in the audience of Mary Ellen Daniels representing the
<br />Riverside Chamber of Co~nerce, Shelby Worley representing the Arlington Chamber of Com-
<br />merce, Bill Ontnk representing the La Sierra Chamber of Commerce, Chuck Chandler repre-
<br />senting the Hunter Park-Northside Chamber of Cserce and Jim Henderson representing the
<br />University-Canyon Crest Chamber of Commerce.

<br />CONSENT CALENDAR
<br />The following items ware approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to
<br />those items listed on the Consent Calendar and as submitted to the City Council for con-
<br />sideration; with the exception of reports regarding acquisition of proposed site for
<br />Springs Substation, operations assistance at Wastewater Treatment Plant and proposed or-
<br />dinance for vicious dog regulations, all of which were removed to the Discussion Calen-
<br />dar.

<br />CASE VAC-7-878 - PORTION OF CHARLES SITUATED AT ITS WESTERLY TERMINUS
<br />A communication was presented from the City Planning Commission advising that, on Febru-
<br />ary 18, 1988, the Commission, by a vote of 6 eyes to 0 noes, approved subject to condi-
<br />tions the proposal of Arciero and Sons, Inc., to vacate an approximately 30-foot-wide by
<br />77-foot-long portion of Charles Street situated at the westerly terminus of Charles
<br />Street, Case VAC-7-878. The Public Works Department was requested to furnish the neces-
<br />sary legal description, and the City Attorney was authorized to prepare the appropriate
<br />resolution for City Council consideration to set the utter for public hearing.

<br />BOARD OF ADMINISTRATIVE APPEALS AND ZONING ADJUSTMENT
<br />
<br />ZONING CASE V-129-878 - DOUC JACOBS - 10021-10091 INDIANA
<br />A communication was presented from the Board of Administrative Appeals and Zoning Adjust-
<br />ment advising that, on March 7, 1988, the Board, by a vote of 7 ayes to 0 noes, approved
<br />subject to conditions the request of Doug Jacobs, Zoning Case V-129-878, for the follow-
<br />ing variance to install wall identification signs on two commercial buildings to be con-
<br />strutted at 10021-10091 Indiana Avenue, situated on the northwest side of Indiana Avenue
<br />northeasterly of Tyler Street, in Zone R-1-65, tentative Zones C-2-S-2-X: to allow ten-
<br />ant identification wall signs on the rear of the building, adjacent to the Riverside 91
<br />Freeway where there is no adjacent parking lot or street; no such signs are permitted.
<br />It was determined that the City Council would not set the matter for public hearing.
