<br />The Chair recognized the presence in the audience of Romayne Chinhock representing the
<br />Arlington Chamber of CornserGe, Kerry Pandergast representing the La Sierra Chamber of
<br />Commerce, Doris Shepherd representing the Hunter Park-Northside Chamber of Commerce and
<br />Bill Martin representing the University-Canyon Crest Chamber of Commerce.

<br />CONSENT CALENDAR
<br />The folioring items were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to
<br />those items listed on the Consent Calendar and as submitted to the City Council for con-
<br />sideration; with the exception of the report regarding the General Fund Contingency Re-
<br />serve and Unappropriated Balance, which was continued until later in the day.

<br />A co~nuntcation was presented from the City Planning Co~mission advisinB that, on Janu-
<br />ary 7, 1988, the Commission, by a vote of 8 ayes to 0 noes, approved subject to condi-
<br />tions the request of Janet Goeske, Zoning Case C-23-812 (Revised), for a revised condi-
<br />tional use permit to establish a catering service in conjunction with the established
<br />senior citizen center on approximately 3.1 acres of land at 5257 Sierra Street, situated
<br />on the northeast corner of Streeter Avenue and Sierra Street, in Zone R-1-65; and deter-
<br />mined that the proposal would not have a significant adverse effect on the environment.
<br />It was determined that the City Council would not set the matter for public hearing.

<br />A communication was presented from the City Planning Commission advising that, on Janu-
<br />ary 7, 1988, the Cosmission, by a vote of 7 ayes to 0 noes, approved subject to condi-
<br />tions the request of Ronald V. Avery, etal., Zoning Case C-32-878, for a conditional
<br />use permit to establish a private technical school for approximately 60 students (st any
<br />one time) on approximately 2.2 acres of land at 5700 Arlington Avenue, developed with a
<br />former health spa and related on-site park/ng facilities, situated on the southerly side
<br />of Arlin~ton Avenue about 800 feet east of Jefferson Street, in Zones RO-S-1-X; and de-
<br />termined that the proposal would not have a significant adverse effect on the environ-
<br />ment. It was determined Chat the City Council would not set the matter for public
<br />hearing.

<br />PARK AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT
<br />
<br />COMPLETION - ISLANDER BATHHOUSE CANOPY
<br />In consideration of the recommendation from the Park and Recreation Department, the work
<br />of repairing and rehabilitating the Islander Bathhouse canopy located in Islander Park
<br />at 379A Mr. Vernon Avenue, by Wyatt Construction, was accepted as completed; and execu-
<br />tion of the Notice of Completion was authorized and directed.

<br />TRACT MAP 21638-5 - NORTHWESTERLY CORNER OF COLE AND KRAMERIA
<br />The Faithful Performance Bond of Orangecrest Cole, Ltd., as principal, and Developers In-
<br />surance Company, as surety, in the amount of ~778,~50; together with the Labor and Mate-
<br />rial Bond, executed by the principal and surety as listed above, in the amount of
<br />~389,225; together with their Agreement guaranteeing the completion of streets, curbs,
<br />gutters, and all other improvements described on the Final Map of Tract 21638-5, located
<br />at the northwosterly corner of Cole and Krameria Avenues, were approved and accepted.

<br />the Official Map of Tract 21638-5, consisting of five sheets, being a subdivision of a
