MINUTES The Minutes of the Meetings of January 26, 1988, ware approved as submitted. The Chair recognized the presence in the audience of Romayne Chinhock representing the Arlington Chamber of CornserGe, Kerry Pandergast representing the La Sierra Chamber of Commerce, Doris Shepherd representing the Hunter Park-Northside Chamber of Commerce and Bill Martin representing the University-Canyon Crest Chamber of Commerce. CONSENT CALENDAR The folioring items were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to those items listed on the Consent Calendar and as submitted to the City Council for con- sideration; with the exception of the report regarding the General Fund Contingency Re- serve and Unappropriated Balance, which was continued until later in the day. CITY FLANNING COMMISSION ZONING CASE C-23-812 (REVISED) - JANET GOESKE - 5257 SIERRA A co~nuntcation was presented from the City Planning Co~mission advisinB that, on Janu- ary 7, 1988, the Commission, by a vote of 8 ayes to 0 noes, approved subject to condi- tions the request of Janet Goeske, Zoning Case C-23-812 (Revised), for a revised condi- tional use permit to establish a catering service in conjunction with the established senior citizen center on approximately 3.1 acres of land at 5257 Sierra Street, situated on the northeast corner of Streeter Avenue and Sierra Street, in Zone R-1-65; and deter- mined that the proposal would not have a significant adverse effect on the environment. It was determined that the City Council would not set the matter for public hearing. ZONING CASE C-32-878 - RONALD V. AVERY, ET AL. - 5700ARLINGTON A communication was presented from the City Planning Commission advising that, on Janu- ary 7, 1988, the Cosmission, by a vote of 7 ayes to 0 noes, approved subject to condi- tions the request of Ronald V. Avery, etal., Zoning Case C-32-878, for a conditional use permit to establish a private technical school for approximately 60 students (st any one time) on approximately 2.2 acres of land at 5700 Arlington Avenue, developed with a former health spa and related on-site park/ng facilities, situated on the southerly side of Arlin~ton Avenue about 800 feet east of Jefferson Street, in Zones RO-S-1-X; and de- termined that the proposal would not have a significant adverse effect on the environ- ment. It was determined Chat the City Council would not set the matter for public hearing. PARK AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT COMPLETION - ISLANDER BATHHOUSE CANOPY In consideration of the recommendation from the Park and Recreation Department, the work of repairing and rehabilitating the Islander Bathhouse canopy located in Islander Park at 379A Mr. Vernon Avenue, by Wyatt Construction, was accepted as completed; and execu- tion of the Notice of Completion was authorized and directed. PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT TRACT MAP 21638-5 - NORTHWESTERLY CORNER OF COLE AND KRAMERIA The Faithful Performance Bond of Orangecrest Cole, Ltd., as principal, and Developers In- surance Company, as surety, in the amount of ~778,~50; together with the Labor and Mate- rial Bond, executed by the principal and surety as listed above, in the amount of ~389,225; together with their Agreement guaranteeing the completion of streets, curbs, gutters, and all other improvements described on the Final Map of Tract 21638-5, located at the northwosterly corner of Cole and Krameria Avenues, were approved and accepted.
