<br />The Minutes of the Meeting of January 5, 1988, were approved as submitted.
<br />
<br />Councilmen Loveridge and Digati returned at this time.

<br />The Chair recognized the presence in the audience of Ray Becket representing the River-
<br />side Chamber of Commerce, Bob Raven representing the Arlington Chamber of Commerce, Pete
<br />Saputo representing the La Sierra Chamber of Commerce, Linda Black representing the Hunt-
<br />er Park-Northside Chamber of Commerce and Jane Ridgeway representing the University-
<br />Canyon Crest Chamber of Cmerce.

<br />Councilman Osborne was excused at this time.

<br />CONSENT CALENDAR
<br />The following items were approved hy one motion affirming the actions appropriate to
<br />those items listed on the Consent Calendar and as submitted to the City Council for con-
<br />sideration; with the exception of Zoning Case V-98-878 which was set for public hearing.

<br />CITY PLANNING COMMISSION

<br />ZONING CASE C-51-701 (REVISED) - MOBIL OIL CORPORATION - 7290 ARLINGTON
<br />A communication was presented from the City Planning Commission advising that, on Decem-
<br />ber 17, 1987, the Commission, by a vote of 8 ayes to 0 noes, approved subject to condi-
<br />tions the request of Mobil 0il Corporation, Zoning Case C-51-701 (Revised), for a re-
<br />vised conditional use permit to remodel an existing service station to include a mini
<br />market and mechanical car wash (in a detached building) on approximately .6 acre of land
<br />at 7290 Arlington Avenue, situated on the southeasterly corner of Arlington Avenue and
<br />Van Buren Boulevard, in Zone C-2; and determined that the proposal would not have a sig-
<br />nificant adverse effect on the environment. It was determined that the City Council
<br />would not set the matter for public hearing.

<br />ZONING CASE C-31-878 - LA PETITE ACADEMY - 11100 COLLETT
<br />A communication was presented from the City Planning Commission advising that, on Decem-
<br />ber 17, 1987, the Commission, by a vote of 8 ayes to 0 noes, approved subject to condi-
<br />tions the request of La Petite Academy, Zoning Case C-31-878, for a conditional use per-
<br />mit to establish a day care center for approximately 150 children on approximately
<br />.9 vacant acre of land at 11100 tollerr Avenue, situated on the southerly side of tol-
<br />lerr Avenue westerly of La Sierra Avenue, in Zone R-1-65; and determined that the propos-
<br />al would noc have a significant adverse effect on the environment. It was determined
<br />that the City Council would not set the matter for public hearing.

<br />BOARD OF ADMINISTRATIVE APPEALS AND ZONING ADJUSTMENT
<br />
<br />ZONING CASE V-57-878 - F.C.E. ASSOCIATES, INC. - 1819, 1839 AND 1849 KEITH
<br />A communication was presented from the Board of Administrative Appeals and Zoning Adjust-
<br />ment advising that, on December 21, 1987, the Board, by a vote of 7 ayes to 0 noes, ap-
<br />proved subject to conditions the request of F.C.E. Associates, Inc., Zoning Case
<br />V-57-878, for the following variances to construct three two-story apartment buildings
<br />on three contiguous lots at 1819, 1839 and 1849 Keith Street, situated on the north side
<br />of Keith Street westerly of Chicago Avenue, in Zone R-3: to allow the apartment build-
<br />ings to encroach up to 35 feet into the 50-foot rear and side yard setbacks required ad-
<br />Jacent to residentially-zoned property; and to allow unenclosed carports (accessory
<br />buildings) to encroach closer than 75 feet to the front property line and to encroach
<br />one foot into the required one-foot setback along interior side property lines; and de-
<br />termined that the proposal would not have a significant adverse impact on the environ-
<br />ment. It was determined that the City Council would not set the matter for public hear-
<br />ing.
