CIIY OF RIVERSIDE <br /> <br /> COUNCILME]~RS <br /> <br /> Minutes of Regular Meeting of the City Council <br /> Date of Meeting: January 5, 1988 <br /> Time of Meeting: 9 A.M. ~<~k.~, '\ '\ '\ \, <br /> Place of Meeting: Council Chamber, City Hall WARDS \1\2"~\.4"~5\6"'.7\. <br />............................................................................................... ~. ....................... <br /> <br /> Roll Call: <br /> <br />The Invocation was given by the Reverend Larry Wilson, Praise Fellowship. <br /> <br />The Pledge of Allegiance ~as given to the Flag. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />The Minutes of the Meetings of December 22, 1987, were approved as submitted. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION <br />Mayor Brown presented a Plaque of Appreciation to Councilman Bo~ers for his dedicated <br />service as Mayor Pro Tempore from July 1, 1987, through December 31, 1987. <br /> <br />The City Council then appointed Councilman Clarke as Mayor Pro Tempore for the period <br />January 1, 1988, through June 30, 1988. <br /> <br />The Chair recognized the presence in the audience of Dave Pekarek representing the River <br />.side Chamber of Commerce, Shelby Worley representing the Arlington Chamber of Commerce, <br />:Bill Onink representing the La Sierra Chamber of Commerce, Pat Ruckle representing the <br />Hunter Park-Northside Chamber of Commerce and Jim Henderson represen~ing ~he University- <br />Canyon Crest Chamber of C~erce. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />The following items were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to <br />those items listed on the Consent Calendar and as submitted to the City Council for con- <br />sideration; with the exception of Case EPC-36-878, the reports regarding establishment <br />of Curator of Historic Preservation position and Fairmount Park concession, and the re- <br />quest of Councilman Clarke relative to the I Care Shelter Home, all of which were re- <br />moved to the Discussion Calendar. <br /> <br />CITY PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> <br />ZONING CASE C-18-878 - C. R. LEWIS - 10357 GOULD <br />A communication was presented from the City Planning Commission advising that, on Decem- <br />ber 3, 1987, the Commission, by a vote of 9 ayes to 0 noes, approved subject to condi- <br />tions the request of C. R. Levis, Zoning Case C-18-878, for a conditional use permit to <br />establish a board and care facility for approximately ~0 ambulatory and non-ambulatory <br />elderly adults on approximately .9 vacant acre of land at 10357 Gould Street, situated <br />son the northerly side of Gould Street easterly of Jones Avenue, in Zone R-3; and deter- <br />s mined that the proposal would not have a significant adverse effect on the environment. <br />s It was determined that the City Council would not set the matter for public hearing. <br />~ ZONING CASE C-22-878 - EARL SCHEIB AUTO SHOP - 10835'HOLE <br />~ A communication was presented from the City Planning Commission advising that, on Decem- <br />,= bar 3, 1987, the Commission, by a vote of 8 ayes to 0 noes, approved subject to condi- <br />e='tions the request of Earl Scheib Auto Shop, Zonin8 Case C-22-878, for a conditional use <br />s permit to establish an auto body and painting shop on approximately 33 acre of land at <br /> s · <br /> s 10835 Hole Avenue, developed with an automobile sales lot, situated on the northerly cot- <br /> = net of Hole and Mitchell Avenues, in Zone C-3; and determined that the proposal would <br /> = not have a significant adverse effect on the environment. It was determined that the <br /> = City Council woula not set the matter for public hearing. <br /> <br />CASE INT-4.878- DOS PESOS - INTERPRETATION RE MOTEL SUITES <br />A communlels~i~m was presented from the City Planning Commission advising that, on Decem- <br />ber 17, 1987~ the Commission considered the request of Dos Pesos, Case INT-4-878, for an <br />interpretation' of the Municipal Code as to whether motel suites can be considered guest <br />rooms rather than apartment units; and, by a vote of 9 ayes to 0 noes, determined that <br />such aai.
