CITY OF RIVERSIDE <br />CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />June 8,1999 <br /> <br />ZONING CASE CU-039-923 - 2828 CAMPUS - DENIED <br />The City Council upheld the Planning Commission's action in denying the request <br />of Chandler Signs, on behalf of PetsMann, for a proposed variance after approval of <br />a conditional use permit to allow two additional building signs for a total of three <br />building signs where only one sign is permitted and to allow approximately 196- <br />square-feet of signage where a maximum of 150-square-feet is allowed, at <br />2828 Campus Parkway, situated on the north side of Campus Parkway, east of <br />Corporate Center Place, in Zone C-2-SP. <br /> <br />ZONING CASE CU-064-989 - 7442 DIAMOND <br />The City Council upheld the Planning Commission's action in approving subject to <br />conditions the request of Jos~ A. Jimenez, on behalf of Church of God Prophesy, to <br />establish a new approximately 7,500-square-foot sanctuary on approximately 1.1 <br />acres developed with a single-family residence and church parking lot situated on <br />the southwesterly comer of Diamond and Bunker Streets in Zone R-1-65. This <br />facility will replace the existing chapel at 7442 Diamond Street which will be <br />convenned to a fellowship hall. The City Council upheld the Commission's <br />determination that the proposal would not have a significant effect on the <br />environment; concurred in the adoption of the Negative Declaration; and found <br />there is no evidence before the City that the proposed project will have any potential <br />for adverse effect on wildlife resources and the impacts of the project are found to <br />be de minimis pursuant to Section 711.4 of the Fish and Game Code. <br /> <br />VARIANCE CASE VR-006-823 (REVISED) - 3403 TENTH <br />The City Council upheld the Planning Commission's action in approving subject to <br />conditions the proposal of Dennis Stout on behalf of Heath Operating Company, for <br />property at 3404 Tenth Street, situated within the block bounded by Ninth, Tenth, <br />Lime, and Lemon Streets, in Zone C-O. Variance requested: To allow a 24-square- <br />foot, 6-foot-high monument sign identifying one tenant where only one <br />identification monument sign indicating the name of the complex is permitted. <br /> <br />VARIANCE CASE VR- 137- 801 (REVISED) - 10303 MAGNOLIA - DENIED <br />The City Council upheld the Planning Commission's action in denying the proposal <br />of Young Electric Sign Company, for a sign variance related to an existing <br />shopping center at 10303 Magnolia Avenue, situated on the northwesterly comer of <br />Magnolia Avenue and Tyler Street (Michael's Plaza) in Zone C-2. Variance <br />requested: To allow identification of two shopping center tenants on an existing <br />pylon, permitted by a previous variance and currently identifying the name of the <br />shopping center. The Zoning Code allows identification of the name of the <br />shopping center or one tenant in the shopping center. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />BID 5618 - STREET AND SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENTS <br />The City Council (1) rejected the bids of Malton Construction for $149,100 and <br />S.
