CITY OF RIVERSIDE CITY COUNCIL Minutes of: Date of Meeting: Time of Meeting: Place of Meeting: Regular Meeting of the City Council June 8, 1999 9 a.m. Council Chamber, City Hall Roll Call: The Invocation was given by Councilmember Defenbaugh. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the Flag. MINUTES The Minutes of the Meeting of June 1, 1999, were approved as presented; with Councilmember Thompson abstaining as she was absent due to illness. PRESENTATIONS - CONTINUED IN PART Mayor Loveridge called on Park and Recreation Director Terry Nielsen who requested that the Kids Tree Time Singers' presentation on keeping Riverside beautiful and their appreciation of Riverside's tree heritage be continued. Mayor Loveridge called on Councilmember Beaty who introduced Ana Stover, Principal of Fremont Elementary School. Ms. Stover introduced Linda Lindgren and Terry Lowery, Third and Fifth Grade classroom teachers; Debbie Newton, G.A.T.E. Program Coordinator; and students responsible for the Alphabet Riverside History book presented to the Mayor and City Council and the Governor's Quilt that has been signed by every governor in the country. CONSENT CALENDAR The following items, presented to the City Council on the Consent Calendar for consideration, were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to each item. PLANNING COMMISSION ZONING CASE CU-012-634 (REV.) - 1290 VIA PINTADA The City Council upheld the Planning Commission's action in approving subject to conditions the request of Joe A. Ramos AIA, on behalf of Canyon Crest Country Club, Inc., to upgrade an existing maintenance yard and construct an approximately 4,800~square-foot maintenance building on approximately .8 acre developed with a maintenance facility, including a barn to be demolished, at 1290 Via Pintada, situated on the south side of Via Pintada, in Zone R-l-80; upheld the Commission's determination that the proposal would not have a significant effect on the environment; concurred in the adoption of the Negative Declaration; and found there is no evidence that the proposed project will have any potential for adverse effect on wildlife resources and the impacts of the project are found to be de minimis pursuant to Section 711.4 of the Fish and Game Code.
