Update Reports <br />A.Senior Citizen Day (SCD) – Irene Weir reported she, Doup, and Tarmo met with Hice in <br /> <br />October to discuss financing. She stated she is continuing to contact various <br />organizations regarding their possible participation in SCD. Weir and Doup attended the <br />AARP Board meeting; however, they were not interested in being involved. A December <br />8 Subcommittee meeting is scheduled to discuss the Senior Awards ceremony. <br /> <br /> B. Senior Resource Guide – Bill and Grace Abboud updated the MCOA on their progress <br /> with the Senior Guide, noting the December issue will be almost double the size of the <br /> previous publication. They are projecting they will have close to 100 advertisers for their <br /> third issue in January 2015. The Abbouds hope to set up an app that will allow computer <br /> access to the Guide. <br /> <br />thth <br /> C. Senior Corps – Don Coon reported RSVP will be reading with 5 and 6 graders at three <br /> elementary schools. In addition, Coon has committed to providing dinner and gifts for 100 <br /> homeless veterans housed at March Air Reserve Base for Christmas; donations are <br /> <br /> welcome. <br /> <br /> V.
