<br />Mayor’s Commission on Aging – September 9, 2014 <br />Minutes – Page Two <br /> <br /> She indicated the Guide produced by Parks & Rec was created at the request of the <br /> MCOA and said the Abbouds Guide would not be a problem. <br /> <br /> C. Orientation Subcommittee – Madeline Pruett said the Subcommittee met and would like to <br /> have a binder which will be presented to each new Commissioner. Based on her report <br /> and Commission discussion, the following action was taken: <br /> <br />Action: By motion duly made (Pardee), seconded (Fish), and carried unanimously, <br /> <br /> the Commission will appoint a Commission Historian who will maintain an historical <br /> binder, the Chair will mentor all new Commissioners, a perpetual Commission <br /> calendar will be created and maintained, and monies will be approved for the <br /> purchase of binders and binders materials for all new Commissioners. <br /> <br /> <br /> D. MCOA Website – Weir will not be pursuing changes to the website at this time; however, <br /> she recommended a Commission email address be established for use by the <br /> Commissioners. Hice will contact the IT Department at the City to determine the viability <br /> of a Commission email address. <br /> <br /> <br /> E. Senior Corps – Postponed. <br /> <br /> VI. A representative from Wellbrook Senior Living reported they are now licensed to provide <br /> assisted living and memory care. <br /> <br /> B. Carrie Law, with FG Express, reported on the availability of pain strips to ameliorate pain <br /> and promote clarity of thinking. <br /> <br /> IX.
