Update Reports and Announcements <br /> 1. <br />Kristen Reid discussed the City’s Senior Resource Guide which will have 2,000 <br /> copies printed by the first week of June. Three thousand dollars was raised from <br /> advertisements to pay for printing. <br /> <br /> V. Discussion Items <br /> 1. Irene Weir thought of Senior Citizens Day hoping to do in conjunction with Senior <br />Fair at Goeske Center in October. She hopes to have MCOA involvement, City Council <br />acknowledge seniors (piggy back with Senior Awards as well) and business have <br />senior discounts that particular day. <br /> <br /> VI. Action Items <br /> None <br /> <br /> VII. Public Comments <br /> 1. Subject of senior gardens was brought up. Community gardens committee <br /> information was provided. <br /> 2. Rich Gardner was looking for suggestions regarding obtaining supplemental money <br /> to pay for volunteer’s food who assist with wife. <br /> 3. Kirsten Rakow, from Renaissance Village, wanted to share advertising tips to assist <br /> MCOA get the word out. She suggested reaching out to senior assisted living <br /> marketing facilities. <br /> <br />VIII. Items for Future Consideration <br /> None. <br /> <br /> IX.
