LINCOLN & VICTORIA SWLY OF ANNA j :An appeal was presented from Mr. Ivar Lovret of certain improved Iment requirements on Victoria Avenue in connection with Tract :4122 covering property situated between Lincoln Avenue and Vic- toria Avenue, southwesterly of Anna Street; together with a : Icommunication from the Planning Commission advising the City I :Council that, on July 23, 1970, the Commission, by a vote of 8 : :ayes to 0 noes, approved the tentative map of Tract 4122, sub- : :jeer to the recommendations of the Subdivision Committee, which) :included improvements on Victoria Avenue. Mr. Lovret answered :questions from the City Council and commented on his proposal : Ito waive the sidewalk requirement and install a berm rather I :than curbs and gutters. Following discussion, the Developer's :proposal was accepted to eliminate the sidewalk, and accept the: Idedication of the additional 23 feet; that the question of the I :paving and berm be worked out in an equitable manner by the j :Public Works Department with a report back to the City Council Tat the time of the hearing on the zoning case, it being the un -I Iderstanding of the City Council the developer will bring the j :black top up as close as possible without causing damage to or Idestruction of any trees; and, it being the consensus that the Icurbs and gutters are not necessary. j I I IMAGNOLIA AVENUE - COMMERCIAL DEPTH STUDY IA communication was presented from the City Planning Commission,; :advising the City Council that on August (3, 1970, the Commis- : :sion considered a report prepared by the Planning Department, I :as heretofore requested by the City Council on May 26, 1970, on: :the regional land use study of Magnolia Avenue frontage approx-: Iimately between Jackson Street and Van Buren Boulevard, in or- I :der to determine the location of existing commercial develop- I :mens and the possible expansion of commercial activiiss along : Ithe local streets intersecting with Magnolia Avenue; wherein : I the Commission recommends the adoption of the report as a guide) :to future commercial zoning cases in this area; whereupon, the : :report was accepted as presented by the Planning Director. : I I :'ZONING CASE V-7-701 - 3245 BERNARD STREET - PARKING VARIANCE IA communication was presented from the Board of Zoning Adjust- I :ment, advising the City Council that on August 17, 1970, the j :Board, by a vote of 4 ayes to 0 noes, granted the request of IMr. Dana Horn, Zoning Case V-7-701, to provide 50 instead of I Ithe required 132 off-street parking spaces in connection with : :a proposed apartment development for the elderly containing 88 Ione -bedroom units at 3245 Bernard Street, in Zone R-1-65 - :Single -Family Residential Zone; whereupon, it was the determi- :nation that this matter not be revewed by the City Council. I ,PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT 1 (COMPLETION - LOOP DETECTORS ETC. INSTACITATION ELECTRIC :In consideration of the recommendation from the Traffic Divi- sion of the Public Works Department, the installation of loop Idetectors along with detector pads removal at various City ,intersections, under Contract '1'E-70-7, by Citation E:.ectric, ,was accepted as completed; and execution of the Notice of Com- pletion was authorized and directed.
