Acceptance of Fiscal Year 2012 Emergency Management Performance Grant-Page 2 <br /> Staff has applied for and received federal approval to use these funds for the following: <br /> 1) Enhance the computer and television display monitors within the Emergency Operation Center <br /> in the amount of $4,000; 2) Installation of an integrated digital clock system in the amount of <br /> $4,000; 3) Purchase of additional emergency preparedness equipment (shade shelters, portable <br /> generators, mobile and portable amateur radios) in the amount of $9,400; and 4) Partial salary <br /> offset for the Community Preparedness Coordinator position within the Fire Department in the <br /> amount of $42,992. <br /> The performance period for the grant is July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013 for personnel and <br /> September 24, 2012 through June 30, 2013 for equipment purchasing. <br /> FISCAL IMPACT: <br /> The total grant award is $60,392. The EMPG requires a 50% local cost share of $30,196 which <br /> the Fire Department will provide through in-kind match of existing emergency management staff <br /> salaries. <br /> Prepared by: Steven H.
