recipients. The reception for the awardees and their friends and families was followed <br />by a City Council presentation for the honorees. This year the Commission honored 2 <br />seniors with Senior Citizen Awards (Karl Marshall and Geraldine Marie Bowden) and two <br />with the Mayor's Lifetime Achievement Award, Charlie and Virginia Field. <br />V. Outreach Accomplishments — The Mayor's Commission on Aging strives to create community <br />awareness of the purpose and activities of the Commission. <br />• Monthly Meetings — The Commission continues to host a number of meetings per year; <br />during the past year the meetings have been held in the Mayor's Ceremonial Room in City <br />Hall; during this year, they will be held in Senior Centers throughout the City. We've <br />enjoyed having more members of the public visiting us and sharing information. We meet <br />on the second Thursday of each month at fpm, with the exception of July and August. <br />• Commissioners have participated in the following events: <br />• Annual Senior Conference <br />• Riverside Neighborhood Conference <br />• Meals on Wheels Ride -along <br />• Photography Exhibit of the winners of the Senior Photo Contest at Riverside Stamp <br />and Coin Arts Center <br />• Appreciation Luncheon for Senior Corp Volunteers <br />• <br />
