Acceptance of Grant AwardPage 2 <br />(1.0) Battalion Chief, a part-time (.75) General Services Worker, and a (.90) Account Clerk II. Due <br />to overlapping grant periods, USAR grants will fund the salaries and benefits of these positions for <br />the entire 2011-12 fiscal year. Since FY 2003-04, Riverside’s USAR program has received over <br />$9.0 million in grant funds. <br />Urban Search and Rescue, is a "multi-hazard" discipline, that may be needed for a variety of <br />emergencies or disasters, including earthquakes, hurricanes, typhoons, storms, tornadoes, floods, <br />dam failures, technological accidents, terrorist activities, and hazardous materials releases. CA- <br />TF6 is one of 28 National Task Forces and one of eight in California that respond as either FEMA or <br />as a California EMA resource during emergencies requiring highly skilled search and rescue <br />personnel. Although USAR Task Forces are FEMA resources, they also work for, and in support of, <br />local response agencies. <br />FISCAL IMPACT: <br />All costs associated with the USAR program are fully funded by the Department of Homeland <br />Security/FEMA USAR Grant. No matching funds are required for acceptance of grant award in the <br />amount of $1,144,578. There is no fiscal impact to the City’s General Fund. <br />Prepared by: Steven H.
