During construction, the Santa Ana River Bike Trail will remain <br />open. <br />On April 12, 2011, four (4) bids were received for the construction of this project. The lowest <br />responsive bid is from Griffith Company, located in Santa Fe Springs, California, in the amount <br />of $4,917,509.95, which is 15.8% below the Engineer's estimate (see Attachment 2). <br />The Purchasing Services Manager concurs with the recommendation above. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />The total project cost, including engineering, construction contract, incidentals, construction <br />administration, and contingencies is estimated at $6 million, with approximately $1.1 million <br />already spent on engineering, construction engineering and contingencies. Under the terms of the <br />amended agreement, the FRA agreed to remediate the City's former Agricultural Park where the <br />City once operated a sewer treatment plant. In exchange for FRA completing remediation of the <br />sewer plant site, the City agreed to extend Jurupa Avenue.
