<br />It was moved by Councilman Pinkerton, seconded by Councilman Carter, that, satisfactory
<br />evidence of physical disability, due to military service, having been presented by the City Realth
<br />Officer, the Chief of Police be, and he is hereby, instructed to issue a license, exempt from the
<br />usual fee required therefor, to Earl A. Stewart, for carrying on the business of electric repairs and
<br />supplies store, at No. 3670 Tenth Street, for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1937•

<br />Upon notion of Councilman Wells, seconded by Councilman Pinkerton, permission to conduct a
<br />public dance in the Elks' Hall, Eleventh and Main Streets, on Wednesday evening, September 12, 1936,
<br />was granted to Norco Post No. 325, The American Legion, subject to the provisions of Ordinance No. 427
<br />(New Series), and upon payment of the proper license fee.

<br />It was moved by Councilman Wilson, seconded by Councilman Pinkerton, that, pursuant to the
<br />request of Vinnette Huntwork, as set forth in her communication of August 4, 1936, this day received
<br />and filed, a refund of $75.60, the amount In full, heretofore erroneously collected by the City of
<br />Riverside, in business license fees, for the operation of an alleged hotel and rooming house, at No.
<br />4074 Eighth Street, for the period commencing July 1, 1929, and ending June 30, 1936, be, and the same
<br />is hereby, approved and authorized, and a warrant in payment thereof is hereby ordered drawn.

<br />Upon motion of Oo ncilman Barger, seconded by Councilman Carter, the request of Vinnette
<br />Huntwork, as set forth in her commmiication of August 4, 1936, heretofore received and filed, seeking
<br />a refund on $75.60, the amount, in full, heretofore erroneously collected by the City of Riverside in
<br />business license fees, for the operation of an alleged hotel and rooming house at No. 4074 Eighth street,
<br />for the period commencing July 1, 1929, and ending June 30, 1936, was referred to the City Attorney for
<br />further study and recommendation.

<br />A communication from M. C. Stores, under date of August 4, 1936, proposing to furnish one
<br />Madsen Paving Plant, including all labor, power, repairs and equipment to mix asphalt concrete or pre-
<br />mix as desired, at the City Rock Crusher, for the sun of 55¢ per ton, with aggregate in the Cityls
<br />trucks at the plant, the City of Riverside being required to furnish all oils and rock for the said
<br />mixture; the agreement being for not less than ninety days and not more than six months, was read at
<br />this tire and ordered filed; whereupon, it was moved by Councilman Tiernan, seconded by Councilman
<br />Barger, that the said proposal be, and the same is hereby, rejected.
