<br />Itr. Edward Stuart, Ile. 4036 Merrill Avenue, appeared before the Council at this time, requesting! Business
<br />I license -
<br />that ho be permitted to pay, on a quarterly basis, a license for carrying on the business of contracting
<br />Edward
<br />for the digging of toss pools in the City of Riverside, in lieu of on a yearly basis, as required of ' Stuart
<br />contractors by City Business License Ordinance I1o.606 (Hew Series), due to the fact that labor is sole E
<br />source of his income and that he is unable to pa;✓ such a license yearly in advance; whereupon, it was
<br />moved by Councilman Tiernan, seconded by Councilman Pinkerton, that, for good cause shown satisfactory
<br />to this Council, pursuant to Section 12? of City Business License Ordinance Ila. 66606 (new Series), the I
<br />issuance of a license to Edward Stuart, Ile. 4036 Merrill Avenue, on a quarterly basis, at the rate of
<br />,$`3.00 per g.txter, payable in advance, for carrying on the business of contracting for the digging of
<br />cess pools in the City of Riverside, be, and the sane is hereby, approved and authorized.

<br />It was moved by Councilman Tiernan, seconded by Councilman Wilson, that, pursuant to the
<br />complaint set forth in the communication of the Glenwood Investment Company, Incarcerated, this day
<br />received and filed, and to the recommendation of the public Safety Committee of the Council, the Super-
<br />intendent of Streets be, and he is hereby, instructed to install a "Ila Left Turn" traffic sign at the
<br />easterly end of the Alley in Block 1, Range 7 of the City of Riverside, situated immediately southerly
<br />of and parallel with Seventh Street, between Main and Market Streets, and to remove the 'gone WWI
<br />traffic sign therefrom, and also, to uaint a smite traffic stripe on the pavement at the easterly end
<br />of the said Alley, together with an arrow thereon, indicating that the direction of traffic proceeding
<br />therefrom shall be to the south only; and an aupronriation to cover the cost of such installation is
<br />hereby approved and authorized.

<br />Ayes: Councilmen Pinkerton, Barber, Carter, Barger, Wilson, Wells and Tiernan.

<br />It was moved by Councilman Carter, seconded by Councilman Wilson. that, satisfactory evidence
<br />of physical disability, due to military service, having been presented by the City Health Officer,
<br />the Chief of Police be, and he is hereby, instructed to issue a license, exempt from the usual fee
<br />required therefor, to tied B. Hogmire, for carrying on the business of auto repair shop, at Ile. 3376
<br />Seventh Street, for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1937.
