BACKGROUND /PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The existing building is a neo- colonial style with multiple gables, gable dormers, brickwork,
and a shingle roof. The overall building is relatively rectangular in size with a drive thru
patio cover on the west. The Design Review Board first reviewed this project on June 11,
1980, when the subject property was approved to expand the existing 925- square -foot bank
building with a 1,600- square -foot addition. The addition was designed to match the existing
structure with a simulated brick finish and green metal columns on a brick base, dormers,
doors and window frames. Staff cannot find any reviews or permits for the drive -thru cover.
The building was previously occupied by the Riverside National Bank, then the City
National Bank, and is currently occupied as the Riverside Dental Office.
The applicant proposes to expand the building westerly, removing the patio cover and
replacing it with a 3,128- square -foot addition. The addition will include 1,528- square -feet
for additional dental office and 1,600- square -feet for a pizza take out facility with no dining
area. The proposed addition will essentially be rectangular in shape and 17 -feet high. The
walls are proposed for a stucco finish painted brick red. The addition will have a flat roof
with a parapet and will not continue the gable roof.
DRB MEETING DECEMBER 12, 2001 1 DR- 193 -790 (REVISED)
