PROJECT DESCRIPTION Church offices and apartments California Baptist University across Monroe Street Mini - warehouse facility Vacant land The Riverside Christian Schools is proposing the construction of a 6,848- square -foot permanent classroom and library building northerly of the tennis courts to replace two modular classroom units. The classroom/library building will be setback approximately 400 feet from Monroe Street, oriented so the widest side will be facing Monroe Street. The proposed improvements are only to accommodate the current school population. The Planning Commission approved the original Conditional Use Permit, CU- 034 -612, for this site in 1962. In 1982, the City Planning Commission approved a revised CUP to increase the usable area and to allow the addition of an elementary school. Since then, a number of minor revisions and modifications have been subsequently approved to expand the facility. The Design Review Board reviewed and approved a proposal on July 12, 2000, for the construction of a building very similar in style to the current proposal. A revised Conditional Use Permit, CU- 034 -612, was approved by the Planning Commission on June 21, 2001 allowing the construction of a classroom/library building for the replacement of two modular units northerly of the tennis courts, subject to various conditions, including the requirement for Design Review over all aspects of the project.
