People Serving <br />Peorle <br /> <br />CITY OF RIVERSIDE <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />Riverside <br /> <br />AI I-Arnerica City <br /> <br />HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />DATE: December 1, 1998 <br /> <br />ITEM NO.: 2 2 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: RIVERSIDE MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM STATUS REPORT <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br /> <br />On June 29, 1998, the City Council approved an extension of the operation and management agreement for <br />the Riverside Municipal Auditorium with the Robert Stein Group for a period of three years. The Robert <br />Stein Group headed up by Robert Stein has been involved with the operation and management of the <br />Municipal Auditorium in various capacities since 1994; first, as an employee of the Theater Corporation of <br />America, then Terry Hill and Mr. Stein formed a partnership for operation of the Auditorium and then he <br />formed his own company and continued as the sole operator of the Auditorium. <br /> <br />The purpose of Mr. Stein's appearance will be to provide the Council an update as to the activities at the <br />Auditorium and look at what is in store for the future of the facility. Attached to this report is a report <br />prepared by Mr. Stein highlighting the happenings at the Auditorium along with a brochure he has prepared <br />about the building. <br /> <br />RECOMMEN DATIO N: <br /> <br />That the City Council receive and file this report. <br />Prepared by: <br /> <br />Lawrence E.
