1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 890 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF <br />RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING FINDINGS PURSUANT TO <br />HEALTH & SAFETY CODE SECTION 33445 AND AUTHORIZING <br />EXECUTION OF A REIMBURSEMENT AGREEMENT FOR REPAYMENT <br />OF COSTS FOR PUBLICLY OWNED PROJECTS WITHIN OR WITHOUT <br />THE UNIVERSITY CORRIDOR/SYCAMORE CANYON MERGED <br />REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AREA CONSISTING OF A CHILDCARE <br />FACILITY AT BORDWELL PARK. <br />WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Riverside, California ("Agency") <br />desires and intends to reimburse to the City of Riverside ("City") the cost for the construction <br />and installation of a childcare facility at Bordwell Park, (the "Improvements") outside, but <br />adjacent to, the University Corridor/Sycamore Canyon Merged Redevelopment Project Area (the <br />"Project Area"); and <br />WHEREAS, Health and Safety Code Section 33445 provides that the Agency may, with <br />the consent of the legislative body, pay all or part of the value of the land for, and the cost of the, <br />installation and construction of, any building, facility, structure, or other improvements that is <br />publicly owned within or without the Project Area; and <br />WHEREAS, the Improvements will consist of the construction of a childcare facility at <br />Bordwell Park, which shall include significant site grading and retaining walls for the building <br />pad, a covered concrete breezeway connecting the two buildings, an outdoor children's play area <br />surrounded by a decorative iron fence, site electrical and area lighting, and irrigation and <br />planting; and <br />WHEREAS, while Bordwell Park is outside, but adjacent to, the Project Area boundary, <br />the future improvements will be of benefit to residents within the Project Area; and <br />WHEREAS, the Improvements will reduce blight in the Project Area and its surrounding <br />neighborhoods; and <br />WHEREAS, the Improvements will provide childcare services for low-to-moderate <br />income families and promote the health, safety and welfare of the community within the Project <br />Area; and <br />1 <br />
