<br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MINUTES <br />TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 2009, 2:30 P.M. <br />ART PICK COUNCIL CHAMBER <br />CITY HALL <br />3900 MAIN STREET <br /> <br />Roll Call: <br /> <br />Mayor Loveridge convened the City Council in the City Council Board Room <br />at 2:30 p.m. <br /> <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES <br />Following an interview with Richard Roth, the Mayor and City Council <br />appointed Justin Scott-Coe to the Citywide seat on the Board of Public <br />Utilities for a four-year term expiring March 1,2013. <br /> <br />RECESS <br />The City Council recessed at 2:52 p.m. and reconvened at 3 p.m. in the <br />Art Pick Council Chamber with Mayor Loveridge presiding and all <br />Councilmembers present. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION CALENDAR <br /> <br />CASE P06-1237 - APPEALS - ARCHEOLOGICAL TREATMENT PLAN - <br />RIVERSIDE SECOND CHINATOWN - 4577 AND 4489 BROCKTON <br />Following discussion, the City Council (1) denied the appeals of Dr. Scott <br />Fedick from University of California, Riverside, Department of Anthropology; <br />Edith Quevedo, PhD, and Leon Liu, members of Riverside Chinese Cultural <br />Preservation Committee; Jean Wong on behalf of Save Our Chinatown <br />Committee; and Kenneth Chan on behalf of Chinese Historical Society of <br />Southern California of the City Council Land Use Committee approval of <br />Doug Jacob's proposal relative to Planning Case P06-1237 for an <br />Archeological Treatment Plan to facilitate development of a three-story, <br />65,281-square-foot medical office building with related parking on <br />approximately 4.2 acres known as the Riverside Second Chinatown located <br />at 4577 and 4489 Brockton A venue; and (2) approved the Archeological <br />Treatment Plan with the revisions based on the findings, and subject to the <br />conditions as outlined in the written staff report. <br /> <br />MA YOR/COUNCILMEMBER COMMUNICATIONS <br /> <br />BRIEF REPORTS ON CONFERENCES, SEMINARS, AND MEETINGS <br />ATTENDED BY MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL <br />Councilmember Melendrez reported on the activities of the Riverside Transit <br />Agency.
