<br />1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 879 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF <br />RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING FINDINGS PURSUANT TO <br />HEALTH & SAFETY CODE SECTION 33445 AND AUTHORIZING <br />PAYMENT OF COSTS FOR PUBLICLY OWNED PROJECTS WITHIN THE- <br />ARLINGTON REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AREA THAT CONSISTS OF <br />STREET IMPROVEMENTS ON V AN BUREN BOULEVARD BETWEEN <br />ANDREW STREET AND GARFIELD STREET. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Riverside, California ("Agency") <br />desires and intends to pay the cost for the construction and installation of public improvements <br />consisting of street improvements on VanBuren Boulevard between Andrew Street and Garfield <br />Street ("Improvements") within the Arlington Redevelopment Project Area (the "Project Area"); <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Health and Safety Code Section 33445 provides that the Agency may, with <br />the consent of the legislative body, pay all or part of the value of the land for, and the cost of the <br />installation and construction of, any building,. facility, structure, or other improvements that is <br />publicly owned either within or without the Project Area; and <br />WHEREAS, the Improvements will consist of widening Van Buren Boulevard to six <br />lanes between Andrew Street and Garfield Street, realigning Andrew Street from east of <br />Farnham Place to Van Buren Boulevard to align with Primrose Drive, construction of raised <br />landscaped medians and landscaped parkways, reconstruction of the existing asphalt pavement, <br />undergrounding of existing overhead power and communication lines, replacement of the <br />existing water line in Van Buren Boulevard; and <br />WHEREAS, the Improvements will reduce blight in the Project Area and its surrounding <br /> <br />22 <br />!'leighborhoods; and <br /> <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Improvements will beautify the area, reduce traffic, increase vehicular <br />and pedestrian safety and promote the health and welfare of the community; and <br />WHEREAS, the legislative body of the Agency has consented to the Agency's payment <br />of the cost of construction and installation of the Improvements; and <br /> <br />1 <br />
