1 <br /> <br /> 2 <br /> <br /> 5 <br /> <br /> 6 <br /> <br /> ? <br /> <br /> 8 <br /> <br /> 9 <br /> <br /> 10 <br /> <br /> 11 <br /> <br />12 <br /> <br />13 <br /> <br />14 <br /> <br />15 <br /> <br />16 <br /> <br />17 <br /> <br />18 <br /> <br />19 <br /> <br /> 2o <br /> <br /> 21 <br /> <br />23 <br /> <br />24 <br /> <br />25 <br /> <br />26 <br /> <br />27 <br /> <br />CITY ATTORNEY <br />RI V E RSI DE <br />CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 17648 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING WAIVER OF <br />FORMAL BIDDING AS REQUIRED BY RESOLUTION <br />NO. 14797 WITH RESPECT TO THE PURCHASE FROM <br />FLEETWOOD ENTERPRISES OF A HAZARDOUS MATERIALS <br />RESPONSE VEHICLE FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS the City Council authorized funding for a <br /> Hazardous Materials response unit and related equipment; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS the Fire Department has been working with <br /> Fleetwood Enterprises during the past twelve months in designing <br /> a specialized hazardous materials response unit; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS Fleetwood Enterprises (a major employer in the <br />City of Riverside which is environmentally sensitive to the <br />needs of the community) has agreed to manufacture this unit for <br />the City of Riverside at a wholesale cost not to exceed ~55,000; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS retail costs for manufacturing a customized unit <br />range from ,85,000 to approximately 3225,000; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS most vendors would be ordering from facilities <br />located out of the City and/or state, which would increase cost, <br />in addition to loss of control during manufacture of customized <br /> <br />~ea~ures; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS use of Fleetwood Enterprises will allow the City <br />to modify features during construction and incorporate any <br />necessary specification adjustments, in addition to saving the <br />City a substantial sum; and <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of <br />the City of Riverside that the bidding requirements of <br /> <br /> <br />
