1 <br /> <br /> 2 <br /> <br /> 3 <br /> <br /> 4 <br /> <br /> 5 <br /> <br /> 6 <br /> <br /> 7 <br /> <br /> 8 <br /> <br /> 9 <br /> <br />10 <br /> <br />11 <br /> <br />12 <br /> <br />13 <br /> <br />14 <br /> <br />15 <br /> <br />16 <br /> <br />17 <br /> <br />18 <br /> <br />19 <br /> <br />20 <br /> <br />21 <br /> <br />22 <br /> <br />23 <br /> <br />24 <br /> <br />25 <br /> <br />26 <br /> <br />27 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 19428 <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, <br /> CALIFORNIA (1) WAIVING THE COMPETITIVE PROCUREMENT <br /> REQUIREMENTS OF RESOLUTION NO. 17788; AND (2) WAIVING THE <br /> PROFESSIONAL CONSULTANT SELECTION PROVISIONS OF <br /> ADMINISTRATIVE MANUAL NUMBER 11-4 AND AUTHORIZING THE <br /> CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A SUPPLEMENTAL SERVICES <br /> AGREEMENT WITH BUSINESS RECORDS CORPORATION FOR <br /> EMPLOYMENT OF AN INTERNET STAFF SUPPORT SPECIALIST AND <br /> FOR THE ACQUISITION AND INTEGRATION OF ADDITIONAL <br /> COMPUTER HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE FOR THE CITY'S INTERNET <br /> INFRASTRUCTURE <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Business Records Corporation CBRC") is managing the City's Information <br />Systems Department pursuant to the Information Technology Agreement dated December 12, <br />1996, ("Agreement") between the City and BRC; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to the Agreement BRC provides technical support for the City's <br />Internet infrastructure; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City is currently connected to the Pacific Bell Internet (PBI) via the <br />County of Riverside, sharing a single T 1 data circuit with the County, their agencies and <br />customers. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City now desires to contract directly with PBI to install and maintain a <br />flame relay T 1 connection directly with them. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, to handle the increased service associated with this change the City desires to <br />upgrade the routing and switching equipment used to access the Internet, including E-mail and <br />firewall protection from external intrusion, which in turn will provide a platform to support the <br />Smart Communities concept contained in the City's Long-Range Technology Master Plan; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, as part of this upgrade, BRC proposes to add an Internet support specialist <br />who will be responsible for designing and creating Web pages for the City to assist in the <br />implementation of Web-based business applications; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best interests of the City to engage BRC's services for <br />the employment of an Internet support specialist and for the acquisition and integration of <br />additional Internet hardware and software. <br /> <br />CityAttorney's Office <br />3900Main Street <br />Riverside, CA 92522 <br />(909) 782-5567 <br /> <br /> <br />
