RESOLUTION NO. t 9419 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, <br />CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE SALARY RESOLUTION NO. 19390 TO <br />AMEND TABLE 1, THE SALARY PLAN, BY ADDING A NEW SALARY <br />RANGE DESIGNATION AS A08E; TO AMEND TABLE 2, THE <br />CLASSIFICATION PLAN, TO ADD THE FOLLOWING CLASSIFICATION, <br />CULTURAL RESOURCE SPECIALIST, (NON-CLASSIFIED) RANGE A08E; <br />AND TO DELETE THE FOLLOWING CLASSIFICATION: SENIOR PLANNER <br />(HISTORIC PRESERVATION). <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />3 <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br />5 <br /> <br />6 <br /> <br />7 WHEREAS, since 1994 the Planning Department has provided staff support for the <br />8 City's historic preservation program, most recently with the use of a Senior Planner (Historic <br />9 Preservation); and <br />10 WHEREAS, the Planning Department has spent considerable resources to train the <br />11 professional planning staff to become "Project Planners" wherein each planner is responsible for all <br />12 aspects of developing a project from initial submittal until final plans are ready for building permit <br />13 plan checks; and <br />14 WHEREAS, although planning staff is now generally knowledgeable of many <br />15 historical and cultural resources and related review processes, considerable day to day reliance is <br />16 made upon the unique and specialized knowledge required of the Senior Planner (Historic <br />17 Preservation); and <br />18 WHEREAS, the Senior Planner (Historic Preservation) has recently submitted her <br />19 resignation to the Planning Director; and <br />20 WHEREAS, in order to attract and retain the most qualified individual in the <br />21 specialized field of historic preservation planning, the Planning Department believes that the <br />22 existing classified position of Senior Planner (Historic Preservation) be deleted and replaced by a <br />23 non-classified position with the title Cultural Resource Specialist (Non-Classified). <br />24 WHEREAS, to implement the Planning Department Proposal it becomes necessary to <br />25 amend the City Salary Resolution No. 19390. <br />26 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of <br />27 Riverside, California, as follows: <br /> <br />City Attorney's Office <br />13900 Main Street <br />Riverside, CA 92522 <br />(909} 782-5567 <br /> <br /> <br />
