1 RESOLUTION NO. 19417 <br /> <br /> 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, <br /> CALIFORNIA, DETERMD4ING THE AMOUNT OF PROPERTY TAX <br /> 3 REVENUE TO BE EXCHANGED BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF RIVERSIDE <br /> AND THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE RELATING TO ANNEXATION NO. 85 <br /> 4 TO THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE. <br /> <br />5 BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Riverside, California, that: <br />6 Section 1: The County of Riverside and the City of Riverside are the agencies whose <br />7 area or responsibility for service would be affected by Annexation No. 85 to the City of Riverside. <br />8 Section 2: Representatives of each of the affected agencies have met and negotiated the <br />9 following exchange of property tax revenue to become effective for tax purposes beginning on <br />10 July 1 of the subsequent calendar year following the date of annexation of the area described as <br />11 "Annexation No. 85--West Side of Main Street Adjacent to the County Line:" <br />12 (a) The City of Riw:rside shall assume the service responsibility for the <br />13 suppression and prevention of structural fires in the area to be annexed, for which purpose <br />14 it maintains a fire department, and for such service assumption shall receive 100% of that <br />15 portion of the property tax revenue generated within the territory to be annexed that is <br />16 presently collected by the County of Riverside as a structural fire protection tax. <br />17 (b) The City of Riverside shall assume the service responsibility for the provision <br />18 of library services for which purpose it maintains a library system, and for such service <br />19 assumption shall receive 100% of that portion of the property tax revenue generated <br />20 within the territory to be annexed that is presently collected by the County of Riverside <br />21 for provision of library services. <br />22 (c) The City of Riverside shall assume the responsibility for all other general <br />23 municipal services to the area to be annexed as are required by law or presently provided <br />24 throughout the City, and for such service assumption shall receive 25% of that portion of <br />25 the property tax revenue generated within the territory to be annexed under the ad <br />26 valorem tax rate established by Article XIII A of the Constitution of the State of <br />27 California, that represents the County of Riverside's share of such tax revenue. <br /> <br />City Attorney's Office <br />3900 Main Street <br />Riverside, CA 92522 <br />(909) 782-5567 <br /> <br /> <br />
