1 RESOLUTION NO. 19412 <br /> <br /> 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, <br /> CALIFORNIA, APPROVING AN APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS FROM THE <br /> 3 NATIONAL RECREATIONAL TRAILS FUND ACT FROM MITCHELL AVENUE <br /> (PHASE I CAMPBELL TO CYPRESS) PEDESTRIAN/EQUESTRIAN <br /> 4 MULTIPURPOSE TRAIL; AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF SAID APPLICATION; <br /> ACCEPTING SAID GRANT; AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF THE <br /> 5 NECESSARY DOCUMENTS. <br /> <br />6 WHEREAS, the National Recreational Trails Fund Act of 1991 provides funds to the <br />7 State of California for grants to state, local and non-profit organizations to acquire, develop and/or <br />8 maintain motorized and non-motorized trail purposes; and <br />9 WHEREAS, the State Department of Parks and Recreation has been delegated the <br />10 responsibility for the administration of the program within the State, setting up necessary <br />11 procedures governing project application under the program; and <br />12 WHEREAS, said procedures established by the State Department of Parks and Recreation <br />13 require the applicant to certify by resolution the approval of applications before submission of said <br />14 applications to the State; and <br />15 WHEREAS, the applicant will enter into an agreement with the State of California to <br />16 complete the project; <br />17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Riverside, <br />18 California, hereby: <br />19 1. Approves the filing of an application for the National Recreational Trails Fund Act <br />20 Program; and <br />21 2. Certifies that said applicant has or will have available prior to commencement of any <br />22 work on the project included in this application, sufficient funds to operate and maintain the project; <br />23 and <br />24 3. Appoints the City Manager of the City of Riverside as agent of the City of Riverside <br />25 to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all documents, including, but not limited to <br />26 applications, agreements, amendments, payment requests and so on, which may be necessary for the <br />27 completion of the aforementioned project. <br /> <br />City Attorney's Office <br />3900 Main Street <br />Riverside, CA 92522 <br />(909) 782-5567 <br /> <br /> <br />
