(New Series) An Ordinance fixing tile rate of license paid by persons having charge of a temporary place of business; itinerant mer- chants and peddlers of goods, wares and merchandise. Tho t;ayor and Common Council of the City of Riverside do ordain as follows:- Socti. on 1. Every person who shall open, establish, manage, or have charge of a temporary place of business of any kind in the City of Riverside~ for the sale of goods, wares, or merchandise, or every itinerant or transient merchant se.].ling or offeri~ for sale any goods, wares, or merchandise in said city, or every peddler, hawker, or other person other than a licensed merchant doing business in said city, selling or offering for sale or soliciting orders for the sale of any goods, wares, or merchandise in said city, by samples or otherwise, shall pay to the City of Riverside the sum of Three Dollars (~3.00) per day, to be payable in advance. Section 2. For tile purpose of this ordinance any place of business open'and established i~ said city for the purpose of a special sale of any goods, wares, or n~erchandise shall be held under this ordinance to be a temporary place of business, provided this shall not apply to a business which has been already established for a period of three months or lon~er. Section 3. Every person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed ghilty of a misdemeanor, and shall be punished by a fine not exceeding Three hundred Dollars (~300.00) or by imprison- merit in the City Jail not exceeding three months, or by both such fine and imprisonment. ~/ Section 4. Ordinance No. 16 (New Series) m~d Ordinance No. 70 (New Series) and all other ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith ~ke hereby repealed. Section 5. This ordinance shall be in force and tak%"e£fect 9' # thirty days after tile posting thereof, according to law.
